hi guys I need some advice, I have this auto darkening Clarke welding helmet, but I will be honest it has not been performing too well recently, and one of the screws holding the lenses has gone AWOL .
I'm loking at replacements but there is so many out there id like a speedglas but I will see if I can budget for £130 but my budget is around £70 for a decent auto darkening helmet, theres loads on ebay can anyone put and recommendations or links to ones YOU have bough and used ?

Don't have a link but I bought a par weld helmet from eBay. About £45 delivered if I remember correctly. Been very good for home use.

get a BOC own brand one, they're rebranded optrel expert ones, easily as good if not better than a speedglas, and about half the price (around £75 i think).

I've got a cheap and cheerful as well as a Speedglas. Difference in quality is significant. Might be worth looking for a secondhand Speedglas or similar - I paid less than £40 for mine in excellent condition.

I've had my Speedglass helmet for around 20 years now. Aside from a couple of batteries and spatter screens it hasn't wanted anything and still performs faultlessly.
Personally I wouldn't use anything else.
