From these two threads, I gather that if an airbag light is illuminated (& thus an MOT fail), if the bulb is simply removed, it will pass with an advisory:

My grandfather's Peugeot 106 has just failed its MOT on the bulb being illuminated - apparently, it's been like that for twelve years, and he had simply put some black tape over it to stop it annoying him. With the new regs, this is now a failure (and the first time it has failed the test) and he'd rather like to avoid spending any money on it that he doesn't need to.
How easy is it to get at (& thus remove) this bulb on a 106, or are there any particular connectors whereby it can be disconnected easily, or connectors that if cleaned up, will sort the problem?
Many thanks!!
