hey nickB... ive holidaying and paddling in my car !! its gonna need a new screen rubber but i darent push the new one out for 2 reasons... 1. its been sprayed without removing the rubber so its gonna tear paint ... and 2. if waters been getting in that long the frames gonna come away with it ! i hate to use sealant too... so then... all you shuvit fans... what are they like to drive?? could they handle the power ?

so then... all you shuvit fans... what are they like to drive?? could they handle the power ? My ex-housemate's boyfriend up until just a year or so ago had a rather rough 4 door shuvit in poo brown. I was always impressed with how comfortable & quiet it was when driving along. As for handling massive hikes in power - I think you'd need to read the MK2 Escort instructions on 'How to lay down power with live rear axle' ;D

Rob, you asked what you'd need to uprate on a Chevette, so for your information, or anyone else who's remotely interested: To turn this: Into this: Or this: click here: www.chevetterallycar.bravehost.com/It tells you everything you'll ever need to know in a handy step-by-step guide! Alternatively drool over (many, many, many) Chevettes here: www.chevettes.com/

Chevettes must be one of the most underated old cars out there, still cheap and just look the nuts with simple mods. Big engine bay aswell I think.

It looks very clean, so could be worth bidding again - what does it need doing for the MOT though?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Not a lot really, just a few scabby bits to tidy and some "consumables"..... I think I'll just keep watching for now and if it's still sub £200 by the end maybe try for a last minute steam..might get lucky... Then again do I want to? I'm currently watching / bidding on a type-2 resto project.....Oh well, you can never have too many cars, can you?

It's gone over what I can justify spending on it now considering the imperfect condition it's in. Well, it was a nice idea anyway....
