Random thoughts going through my head on how to propel my viva. I know Si fitted the cavalier 1.7 derv to his but there's an abundance of peugeot dervs available and can make quite fruity power.
The only issue would be the gearbox and size of the tunnel.
Years ago a friends dad had an ldv with a pug lump in it but I assume an ldv box would be huge. Are there any other options?
Thanks

Pilot box on XUD. Seems about an average sized gearbox to me. Easy to sort out flywheel + clutch Tata loadbeta gearbox on XUD. Bellhousing is a better, more compact shape than the Pilot box. They seem to be more expensive to get, harder to get and unknown how much power they'll take for how long. Not sure about clutch/flywheel/pressure plate issues yet (this is going in a friends morris minor and he's not got round to clutch yet)

not a beast of a gearbox - but it's not exactly a paperweight either! Parts to fit: XU/XUD engine of your choice (XUD11 pictured) LDV Pilot gearbox LDV Pilot crankshaft spigot bearing (approx £5 from a DAF dealer) pug 306 HDi flywheel, with clutch pressure plate Ford Galaxy 2L clutch friction plate hydraulic clutch slave cylinder - LDV pilot type was used in many vehicles (in my case, the scimitar one was identical!)

That LDV box is the Rover LT77, or possibly R380.

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

Reverse on boxes are on opposite sides, and the R380 is generally thought to be stronger, I never broke a LT77 in 5 years of drag racing one,
