Needs boring out from standard 85mm to 86.8... So to 87mm and probably have to use oversize Pistons from a 280z/L28 engine, as I can't afford custom forged. Hopefully compression won't be too high, research is underway. So, apart from new pistons it needs big end bearings, main bearings, new water pump, new oil pump, full gasket set, chain tensioner pad, and cam chain guides. Will need bottom end balance, maybe a head skim etc. Also, the distributor may need replacing, and the electronic ignition will need replacing soonish!

If it helps in anyway, I'm happy to give a full refund on the engine if you return it, (i'm not buying any more engines from Australia!) Bearings etc should be cheap to find , and I probably have a cam tensioner pad, but the guides may be unique to L20 and have to come from the States . Imagine how well that would go if it was breathed on a bit, bored out, camshaft etc.

Thanks for the offer though! Going to bore out to 87mm and use early 280z 0.040 oversize pistons.

Ive got some L28 pistons if you need some dude Thanks for the offer, but I need oversized L28 Pistons. It'll all come good, ball is rolling, hopefully will get it sorted for Retro Kings/RR thing at Snetterton. If not, well, summer is coming and I have a weekend RRG ticket.

Boring out, skimming, balancing etc done. Oversized 280z pistons fitted to the con rods, and all parts good to go. Spent some time today cleaning the block, with a lick of paint, while my man prepped for putting it back together. Obviously the machined faces will be cleaned of paint... Cleaned up the rocker cover too.. I stripped and shot some VHT paint over the exhaust manifold too... Bad photo The workshop is closed up for a long weekend due to a trip to Pendine, hopefully get back on it next week and get finished for Retro Kings, maybe.
