Coalville Motorfest - 28/06/2014

Hi,

We're in the process of begining arrangements for this years Coalville Motorfest, date has already been set for 28/06/2014.

Last year was a great success for the town but from a personal point of view there just wasn't enough cool retro cars in attendance

The part of the event those of us on here are interested in will be at the Snibston Discovery Park, same location the Transport Festival was held in 2010 (RR Thread) and 2011 (RR Thread).

The benefit of how this even is set up though is it's more of a meet as you can arrive and leave as and when you want, plus its free. Anyone is welcome with anything, modern, retro, classic, standard or modded cars, and anything else vehicle related. Last year we had a chap turn up with a Ferguson T20 tractor and he probably got more attention than anyone else.

If you're part of a car club and would like your own designated area, let me know the details and how many cars you'd expect to bring along and we'll save you a plot. Last year we had numerous local car clubs attending and it'd be great to expand on this.

As an when more details of what's going on on the day I'll update this thread.

I didn't get chance to attend this last year but heard good things about it, has this taken over from Snibston Transport Festival?

I'm not sure what happened to the Snibston Transport Festival to be honest, just seemed to stop. This is something that's been set up by a group called the Coalville Town Team (mainly a bunch of local shopkeepers and business owners) to pull people back into the town, they'll be things on all across the town.
