Hi I am looking to purchase an ignition timing light but I have never owned or used one before so not sure if they are all pretty much the same or if a particular model is best. I would prefer to spend about a maximum of £50 on one if possible, Cheers.

It depends on how much use it will get. Personally I've got a mid range Gunson that I bought probably 25 years ago but haven't used it for maybe 10 years. As long as it's a xenon, rather than neon, then I'd say buy whatever you can find that looks OK as they are all basically the same - just some are better quality for more regular / professional use. Loads on eBay for around £20 that will do the job just as well for occasional DIY use as something costing far more. Don't bother with any fancy options - just get a basic strobe.
