Found with a whole load of car parts from the 80s never been opened except when I opened to investigate, any ideas?    Packaging it came in is shown at back of images and reads ESR3 SM/CL Matt |

My guess: ESR means Electric Sunroof, it's a wind break for when your sunroof is open.

My Imp had a similar wind deflector for the Webasto folding sunshine roof that was fixed like a sun visor so just flipped up.
The 205 we had with a glass sunroof had something very like that for when the glass was removed but we never used it as worried about breaking the panel if in the boot etc. I think it fitted into the slots which were empty when glass sunroof removed and the item in the pic could attach the same way.

Makes alot of sense now  I was over-thinking the text and thinking it may have been escort mk3 and couldn't figure exactly which part it might cover... Thanks for your help |

Yup, they are definitely ford sunroof clips. Escort Mk3/4 Fiesta mk1/2 I'd have thought.
Probably not for electric sunroof. The tilt-only glass sunroofs used to pop off and it looks like you could fit this as a wind deflector in their place

The tilt-only glass sunroofs used to pop off and it looks like you could fit this as a wind deflector in their place ta, Rich The clips did look very similar to that on my Mk4 Fiesta sunroof, but this is definately 80s so I think escort is probably right, now just to find one to try it against I am still stuck with this one though... at first I thought it may have been the panel that goes under the front windscreen, but the angles don't quite work out, I think it may be a lower front panel... any ideas?  |

Hi that panel is a lower front valance. Off a viva hc maybe? definetly a lower valance though whatever its off I'm not sure.

It's not from a Viva, possibly Victor FD or perhaps something Japanese?

It looks like it might go somewhere between the waffle valve and the giggle pin but I may be wrong?
