Mileage has just gone over 132k
A real head turner in factory colour Java Green
I have fitted some refurbished gun-metal grey monza mk5 vw golf gti wheels with modified wheel centre caps showing the Audi emblem; all of which are in immaculate condition but for a little nick on the offside front
The tyres fitted were almost new when I put them on the car and have only done around 4k miles so still almost new rears with the fronts a couple mm less, plenty of miles left in them
S3 look-a-like, with S3 front bumper with no fog lights fitted, rear S3 bumper, front lights, gloss black mirrors and S3 foot pedals, throttle pedal not fitted but supplied with car as well as originals all fitted by previous owners
‘S’ Registration 1998, previous owner had registration spaced as, ‘S3 4BDP’, have the old plates if you wanted to do that
Very high specification model in its time and still today, with full black leather seats with heated front seats, electric sunroof, climate control, electric windows and electric operated mirrors all of which are fully working
Has a timax exhaust fitted according to the receipt, not at all loud but gives a single big bore look, was going to change it to a twin exit style like the S3 to suit the bumper more but never got around to doing it
Had an oil and filter change when I bought the car on 127k miles, with all belts and water pump with metal impellor changed at approx. 130k miles, early 2013
History file, with mainly old tax discs, old mot’s and receipts for parts in the past. Will come with a workshop CD-Rom
Last MOT it flew through, with two advisories, one being part of the centre brake lights not working, just the case of a couple small bulbs and the other being the nearside front brake hose slightly damaged, of which a brand new brake hose will be supplied with the car for the new owner
Comes with one fully working Audi remote central locking key, and another I was given with the car that only seems to fit the glove box lock
I had the tracking done at the end of October last year so all running nice and straight
Since owning the car from December 2012, as well as the full service, I have replaced both rear ABS sensors, the ignition module, indicator/hazard relay and fitted a new battery last year. All of which are common problems to the car if you troll the forums, so many trouble free miles ahead regarding common issues!
The car starts first time every time, but the starter motor does give a little squeal on occasions, (only half the time) where it’s believed the motor doesn’t dis-engage fast enough from the flywheel, a very common problem with the VAG range if you research it, has never bothered me and a replacement starter motor doesn’t cost too much if it does you
Uses no water or oil, doesn’t smoke at all and drives as it should, when the local garage serviced the car they notified me that there was a gasket just letting a tiny bit of oil seep but I’ve done 3000 miles and not needed to top it up, it’s that minimal
Believe a previous owner fitted some lowering springs to standard shocks so still drives quite smoothly and doesn’t look too slammed to the ground. No clunks or rattles to talk of and the clutch still feels nice and strong with no problems selecting gears etc
I had the tow bar fitted last year as I needed to move a laden trailer once, but have since only moved it unladen 3 or 4 times, so no great strain been put on the car
Not sure what would have come with the car originally, but no spare wheel or jack supplied but have the locking wheel bolt socket in the glovebox
A previous owner has fitted underfloor lighting to the vehicle also in green, which can be controlled via the box fitted in the glovebox which allows it to be turned on and then different modes making them flash and do other things. Not my sort of thing but have never removed it as it’s not noticeable from outside or inside the car when turned off
The exterior of the car is still very presentable for it’s mileage and age, remember it is 16 years old, so be realistic it’s not an immaculate new car! Still turning heads 16 years on though! There is about 3 dents and various scratches but many not deep and I’ve tried to show these area’s via photo’s
The interior is also still very presentable with all seats in good condition for the age, no rips or tears etc, all switches in good condition and all working just a couple of trim bits missing or with scratches on, which I’ve also tried to show via the photo’s
There is a stone chip in the front windscreen, but this has been treated I believe and is just on the edge of the zone for MOT, but as documented on MOT’s as far back as 2006 is an advisory only, 8 years later it’s not got any worse! A lot of insurance companies will change the glass for free if you wished to have it replaced, has never bothered me and only notice it once you’re aware it’s there
It has a navsure cd player fitted which is all in working order but for the gps signal never found, might just be down to the wire coming lose or the location of the sender in the dash effecting it working, but the rest of functions and cd player are fine
I hope I’ve given you an honest description of the car and wish the new owner looks after the car as well I’ve tried to, as if it wasn’t the need to get something bigger I wouldn’t be selling the car. Still a cracking car to drive, that I’ve enjoyed owning over the last 16 months
