asking for a friend who has bought one, can an xr2 5 speed box be fitted to an 1100 Valencia? what mounts are needed and what clutch and linkage is to be used IF this can be done? cheers in advance  |

Can be done, gf's dad put a 5 speed in her old mk2 1litre.
Don't know about linkages etc, presumed standard stuff. It is tight against the chassis leg / inner wing I think, but worked great.

Been a long long time mate so from memory you will need the 5speed box cradle , and also the selector and think that's it fella ,nice and easy

Also for a much better gear linkage setup ,use a puma gear selector as they fit with very minor mods and select gears soooo much better

cool yes I have been told use the puma selector- we will use that and a 5 speed cradle then. whats the deal with the clutch then? can the original clutch be used /mated to the box? also what about the shafts do we have to use xr2 shafts or can we get away with the originals. cheers for the reply dude |

Think i just answered this on xrtwo.com too? Not sure if same poster.
Anyway, yes it'll fit when you get a linkage, but it'll suck. 1.1 OHV wont be able to cope with the xr2 ratios.
