1998 1.8is mk2 mx5, it is in classic red, has done approx 82k, only had two owners from new, myself for the last 45k.
It suffers from the a small area rot on the inner sill on the nearside, from the outside it looks good having had both arches and sills repaired 3 years ago, looks good once washed and polished. Can email pictures on request.
It has a black and red leather interior which is virtually unmarked, it benefits from having mazda lowered sports suspension from new plus has the addition of a set of front and rear Jackson racing anti roll bars (£199) fitted with new droplinks 3 years ago. It corners very flat and has almost no body roll.
It has a strong engine 147bhp on a rolling road with only the addition of a k&n panel filter (£45), since t then it has had a Flyin Miata sports de cat (£325) fitted with an MX5parts single back box (£199), it goes and sounds lovely.
I have owned the car nearly 7 years, without a single mechanical hitch but the prospect of more welding is enough for me, ideal for someone who wants a simple welding project, panels are available easily without having to make any, or for someone who wants to create a track car.
Everything works and it would be a shame to scrap it when there is so much potential in it, even breaking it there is money in it at this price ! Taxed till the end of the month MOT out.
