1999 BMW 318i SE Touring
I bought this a few months ago for my fiancé to use as an everyday car. Unfortunately we are no longer together and she has taken my Smart car instead. I don't need something this big so I'm selling it.
This is one of the final E36 BMW's that was built being a 1999 car. It has only done 95,000 miles (this will go up a bit as I am still using the car) and feels nice and tight to drive still. It has MOT until 7th May 2015 but will come with no Road Tax under the new rules. It has:
Alloy Wheels
Rear Parking Sensors
Central Locking
Electric Mirrors
Electric Front Windows
Climate Control
Drivers Airbag
AM/FM Stereo
The bodywork is in very good condition and shines up very nicely. Unfortunately while parked outside the previous owners house someone decided to key the car. They keyed the n/s/f door and the o/s/r door. The previous owner used a touch up stick on the scratches to stop them from rusting. It seems to of done the job although doesn't look the best. Both rear arches are starting to get some rust bubbling under the paint. If I was keeping the car I would sort this out as it's a couple of hours to do yourself or £150-200 for a bodyshop to sort out.
The interior is also in very good condition with very little wear on any of the seats. The drivers seat has a tiny hole which appears to of been repaired at some point so it barely notices and won't get any worse. The car has a full set of grey BMW mats and still has the fully working tonneau cover in the boot. All the seats adjust and fold down as they're supposed to.
The climate control gets ice cold very quickly and switches over to warm air without any funny noises from the heater box. The electric mirrors work perfectly as does the passenger electric window. Unfortunately the drivers electric window needs a new regulator. I have unplugged the switch for now to stop anyone accidentally winding it down. The manual rear windows work exactly as they should. The car currently has my snazzy Alpine bluetooth stereo fitted. It WILL NOT be included in the sale. I will make sure there is a stereo of some description fitted though.
The car starts on the first turn of the key and runs very nicely. When I first bought the car I had the oil and oil filter, air filter, cabin filter and spark plugs replaced. It get's up to temperature nice and quickly and the temperature gauge sits slap bang in the middle. When I first bought the car I had the water pump replaced as they are a known weak point on these cars. Recently the temperature gauge stopped working so I had a new radiator fan switch and coolant temperature sensor fitted. The gauge is now working again as it should. Whilst they were replacing those sensors I had a new thermostat fitted just for piece of mind. Unfortunately the ABS light has started popping up occasionally and then turning off again after a bit more driving. I have had the car plugged into a diagnostic machine and it requires the o/s/f wheel speed sensor to be replaced. Once again, if I was keeping the car then I would have it replaced. All four tyres have plenty of tread on them and will easily do thousands more miles.
The car is available for viewings this weekend in Epsom, Surrey, KT19 or during the week in Walton on Thames, KT12. Just send me a message if you want to arrange to come and view it.
Cheers,
Sammo
