The Micra is reaching the end of its economic life, so it's heading to the scrapyard. However, that's a real shame as it's a solid little car with nothing in the way of serious issues. If there's somebody with even an ounce of mechanical skills, this'll keep running for years. Model: Nissan Micra 1.3 LX CVT Year: 19935 Mileage: 85,000 MOT: Expires on 27 November 2014 - no advisories beyond a low tyre. Location: It's in Brampton, a village near Huntingdon, just off the A1 and A14. Price: £250 £150 SOLDContact: phil.huff@frontseatdriver.co.uk Points to note... + No advisories on the last MOT beyond a single worn tyre. + Nothing in the way of rust that I can see. + Incredibly economical. + Honestly, great fun to drive. In a weird way. + Everything works. Not that there's much in there though. + Really cheap to insure. + Amusingly easy to park. + Starts first time, every time. Is in use every day to get my wife to work and back. + Car tax just £12.69 a month / £145 a year. - Tyres are at the end of their life. - CVT makes some whining noises, but it always has and that might be perfectly normal. - Has absolutely zero credibility. And that's it. Save it from the scrapyard, please. It's not worth me spending money on it, but you might have access to cheap tyres, or just need good parts for your Micra.

That's a lovely little thing but you're quite some distance from me.... Is there a train station in reach so I can see if it'd work to come and get this on Saturday?

It's not *that* lovely ;-)
I'm on the main line between Peterborough and London, at Huntingdon station. I do travel a lot though, so there's always options...

Is there any service history? (pushing it with a cheap old car I know and are all 4 tyres near the limit? Really no rust? Thanks! (I've just about convinced myself it's worth the journey!)

There's no service history, but I do have a folder of MOT history going back to 2006. It had a service from my friendly mechanic a year ago, but there's nothing to prove that so you'll just have to take my word for that!
The last MOT passed with just a single advisory, and that was for one low tyre. There's plenty of tread on two tyres, little on the other two. All are a tad old, tired and a bit cracked though.
The sills were welded last year, so they're all good. I can't categorically say there's *no* rust, but there's nothing on the outside and it's solid underneath.
The only real issue the car has is the whining and clunking gearbox but, as I say, that might be normal - I've been told other N-CVT boxes do the same, but I've never driven another one so can't actually compare.

I have one of these, in white, 4 doors, cvt. Very similar looking, but as 1.3 is a bit much I've just got 998ccs. Not trying to urinate on anyone's chips as the seller sounds very genuine, but mine doesn't make any notable noises from the gearbox. Just so you know noises aren't there on all of them, though that's not to say they aren't common. Never driven another! On the upside it's a very practical, cheap to run car.

I've not really made any effort to move this, but realised the tax is coming up at the end of this month. £200 now takes it, or I'll scrap it for £160...
That would, honestly, be a shame. It's a cracking little car :-)

Down to £150 now. If nobody can come and collect it at this price, then this working, solid and rust-free Micra will be heading to the scrapyard :-(

I saw this and my eyes popped out!! All the decent bargains are miles away
My sister had a Micra 1.0 Manual and my other sis had a 1.0 auto (later model), zero street cred for males but cheap as chips to run the damned thing
When you say low tyre do you mean tread or pressure? And it hasn't been accident damaged/repaired as a lot of them are
This does look too good to scrap tbh Hope someone saves it

i am VERY tempted as a first time car for my son. CVT noise sounds expensive though ..... did they have abs back then!!!?

I think ABS was standard after the facelift No ABS on these, make sure you brake well!! I think CVT whine is prob normal, cant remember if my sisters did it, but I didn't drive her suto/CVT often If you're close enough to take a proper look, then do it cause if it just needs a good tyre to pass the MOT and the spare is in decent nick - job done! But decent part worns (if you know a good tyre place) can be a good option If you're worried about CVT noise. take a mechanic friend This looks well clean and cared for, just too far for me to come and take a look
