This is a stunning looking Golf GT TDi... A rare car with GTi looks and turbo diesel performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. It has a full service history (half VW) with a cambelt (its second) 20k ago, and a new clutch / alternator last year. It has been remapped from the original 110Bhp and now has circa 140Bhp (masses of torque) with improved fuel efficiency - see the photos for the stats from a mixed traffic 60+ mile journey - 65MPG!!!! Much quicker than the 1.8t GTi150 we also own (again a 1999 car with the AGU engine).
The car has the red / black Recaro interior, electric windows, mirrors and sunroof, alloy wheels, factory stereo / CD player etc. The centre cap badges have been removed as they peeled and looked unsightly... There are very very few scratches to the car, and no rust... it really is in cracking condition. Being picky there's a small amount of lacquer peel on the front bumper. Also, the pictures make the seats look filthy / stained - they're not... it's a weird sort of checker pattern made up of red, black and grey squares (there is some wear under the driver's bit, but no holes / tears).
Looks great in vibrant red and mechanically very sound - drives like a new car and has a great pick up when the turbo does its thing at 2,500rpm - boosts all the way to the redline with no smoking or stutters.
The MOT expires at the end of this month and known faults with the car are few... the near side rear ABS sensor needs changing - I believe this may have been damaged when that caliper was replaced last year (it also had new rear discs and pads). The instrument cluster appears to have a loose connection as it will work fine for days, then sporadically might go blank, then come back to life again...
Advisories on last MOT are a couple of bushes / gaiters, bonnet latch deteriorating (the plastic bit has cracked but makes no difference to opening or securing the bonnet) and 'oil leaks' (don't they all?)... it has covered 164k and still going strong.
Any questions please ask away... I had it on flea bay but had a message from the 'winner' asking to cancel the bid with 1 minute to go and am tired of paying out for drunkards to make spurious bids (at midnight last night he wanted to buy a Golf TDi - thanks Mudassar whoever you are).
Open to offers and feel free to ask any questions...
