Hi all, unfortunately I'm having to sell my v8 disco as I'm starting my own business and need to sell some of my 6 cars! I would of like to keep this but my 190e is £140 to insure for the year and the disco is £480 so it kinda makes sense as I need to keep my costs to a minimum. Ok so more about the old girl,
it's a 3.9 efi manual and has lpg conversion. Drives lovely on both petrol and lpg, though lpg is nicer as it's half the price almost!
it has mot until December, last year it only needed one small patch of welding to the sill.
it is in good condition for its age with no rot, mainly due to it never been offroad!
it has half leather seats and electric windows all round
central locking
immobiliser
both sunroofs work and don't leak!
tow bar with electrics
the fuel pump and lpg are on 2 separate switches which work one at a time, simple and easy to use.
lpg at my local stations varies from 53.9 to 59.9p a litre.
The lpg tank costs me £27-28 to fill it and I get on average 160mile but if I'm steady it will hit 180mile.
Iv just spent £200 on the following parts thus weekend to give her a well needed service (this is just the parts cost!)
genuine spark plugs
genuine ht leads
genuine distributor cap
genuine rotor arm
oem lucas coil
oem bearmach water pump
Mahle fuel filter
mahle air filter
mahle oil filter and oil.
(it's important to use genuine or top quality oem parts as certain cheap ones *cough* britpart can be faulty out of the box!
transfer box lever has been stripped and regreased to help in its rather smooth operation
i have a genuine dog guard to fit and a light bar that bolts above windscreen to hold 4 spot lamps and a cb ariel.
It does have its downsides but they aren't bad
rear electric windows have good days and bad days, they never get stuck open but sometimes they won't open, half hour later and they're spot on this is happening less and less with more use
passenger rear bumper corner is slightly loose
exhaust is blowing abit but I will try fix this
air filter housing is missing its clips which attach it to air flow meter but it sits in place fine and causes no issues. Found one clip and its sat a lot tighter now.
all in all it's a real good motor for someone, Iv tried to be as honest as possible.
viewing welcome and recomended.
I'm away in wales from Monday to Friday so viewing will have to be next weekend onwards
iv only got a couple pics for now but will get some more tomorrow.
