So after the rapid sale of my old Puma to car share with the girlfriend, she left me.
I subsequently went in search for another reliable run around and found this locally on gumtree. Owned by a gentlemen who was a lorry mechanic, he was only selling to upgrade to a Mondeo for his 50th birthday.
Sadly my grandfather passed away last week and he so very kindly left me his owned since new Mercedes A class. Of course I want to keep this and carry on looking after it the way he did – so this up for sale.
1999 1.8i Zetec
122000 miles
4 owners
Zetec trim includes:
Quickclear front windscreen
Electric windows
Heated wing mirrors
Remote central locking
All of these still work.
Good Points:
Suspension is tight as a drum – no knocks or bumps and it drives fantastically.
Returns 35 MPG all the time every time (calculated this over 2000 miles)
I fitted a new water pump and aux belt 1000 miles ago
4 new tyres
MOT until September 2015
Bad points:
A dent on the rear near side quarter (not by me)
Every now and then the speedo stops working for 30 seconds or so, research shows this is the speed sensor on its way out.
Needs an oil change, I have a filter included in sale.
The button to release the boot on the key needs a few prods to work. Button inside the car works fine.
I paid £650 in October last year, its been brilliant in the time I have had it and it should do someone else good service for a few years yet.
I’m not being greedy, as said I have inherited a new car and so I want to do a good deed and help someone else out. So for a quick and easy sale it’s up for £450
