A few photos from Cornwall... After 300 miles this is how the brake dust was sitting on the wheels... A quick blast with a karcher k2 (it actually took longer to get it out than do the cleaning so I'm setting up a hose point and outside socket by the drive so it's more plug and play) ... And another 5 minutes drying them down with a microfibre ... So just need to repeat that once a week and should all be fine.

Another few hours on the doors today. Starting with recessing the bolt heads... ... followed by sanding edges and rounding off the edges of the front layer ... ... with the following collection... ... then I cut the holes bigger with a jigsaw, didn't want to use the router in case I damaged the vinyl ... Holes labelled up before separating ... Set up ready for trimming... ... trimmed and excess cut off ... Holes drilled into vinyl... ... and bolts tightened through into recesses... ... and threaded through holes in door card panel with nuts fitted behind... Speakers bolted into place, after drilling holes through vinyl as I did for pod fixing bolt holes... The bus is at the body shop getting the bumper damage fixed so I can't fit them into the bus just yet but happy with how they've turned out again. Next plan is to get back onto the sub box fabrication and glue all of the layers together prior to sanding / filling / trimming etc.

I picked the Elgrand up from the body shop this evening. The bumper is back to perfect again and while it was in I also had the vinyl removed from the tailgate and had it sprayed to match the pearl white. (Originally when it was smoothed that area was just painted gloss white as I planned to cover it in vinyl any way) I've picked most of the pink vinyl off the offside tail light surround and will do the few bits remaining and the near side this week. I think I'll get some dark smoke tint for the lights, I removed the faded pink tint film a while ago but the residue was also removed this weekend at the body shop.

I'm sad the pink is going but excited that something new is happening.

I'm sad the pink is going but excited that something new is happening. Cheers, it still has pink on the sides, I think it lends itself to old school mini-truck styling a bit more with smooth rear and front and graphics on the lower side panels.

Hi , good build up. I have had a quick scroll through and you have put alot of work into this. Looks cool! I have an e50 elgrand and just wondered what the bc coilovers where like as I'm looking for lows but not sure if they go low enough for my liking.
Is yours still on bc coilovers?
Thanks

Yes I'm still on bc coilovers - I think they're a nice ride and lots of options with adjustability. There's no lower limit on the bc racing coilovers - the only thing that stops you going lower is whatever hits the ground first - in my case the exhaust silencer and the side skirts - or depending on your wheel setup if your wheels/tyres hit the arches before the car hits the ground but I don't suffer on that side.

Would you mind if I ask what some might see as a critical question? I don't mean to be at all I promise you, but I haven't read anywhere that you are going to be using a DSP or similar? With the speakers being where they are, I can't help thinking your 'Sound Stage' will be somewhat confusing? I used a Kenwood DSP to great effect back in the 90's but you really don't see them these days. They allow you to choose where the sweet spot or sound stage is by time delaying speaker signals.
Love your dedication though.

What size wheels and tyres you running? If thats the case ill get them ordered. Really want some lows.
Ive converted mine to a camper inside now next on the list is the outside so wheels and lows.
Not as easy with an E50 as the wheel fitment is bizare.
Your looks really cool though!!

Love your dedication though. No need to be cautious in suggestions / recommendations. All feedback is welcome. I'm not currently using a secondary DSP although I might introduce one as part of phase 2 next year. The head unit itself does include functionality to some degree that adjusts levels accordingly via a microphone - i don't know how effective it will be but time will tell.

The majority of vinyl is off the clusters now and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, but looks like I'll need to remove them to get the pieces from the edges off. I'll try loosening them at first to see if that gives me enough wiggle room else the bumper needs to come off.

I managed to get a door card fitted at lunch time. No sounds going to it yet but it's all turned out as I'd hoped - a couple of small trim panels need to be made up but that shouldn't be a problem. And it even fits over the floor, although I'm glad I've not started building the floor pods for the 10Ws yet though!

The door cards look really smart. But I am so triggered that the bolts don't line up!

But they do line up, they're perfectly aligned with the spaces on the other part. I find that particularly pleasing.

I'm confused as to which bolts we're talking about? I think the ones holding the speakers aren't in line with the black countersink ones holding the vinyled rings But had to look for quite a while before I got there, so not everyone is upset or pleased by this
