I`ve had this Range Rover coming up to a year now, but simply don`t use it anymore. I bought it initially to tow the caravan and the odd collection of a car with the trailer. However, I`ve ended up using it far more up until recently. I`ve literally been all over in it. I took it to Fort William in September, and the previous two months to that I went to Devon, then Wales and then Cornwall. Each time, it performed faultlessly, and returned up to 250 miles from £50 of LPG. I`ve done around 7000 miles in it, and it`s never let me down.
I`ve spend a good amount of money on it in my ownership too. It`s had all new suspension airbags, good second hand EAS compressor, which I also had rebuilt. There was a leak on one of the LPG filling pipes earlier this year, so that was repaired, and it`s had a full service including plugs and rear brakes and a new windscreen. I`d genuinely get in this and travel anywhere in it. I`ve now sold the caravan, and usually use transport companies to collect my cars means it`s somewhat redundant now.
It went through the last MOT just needing a squirt on contact cleaner on the plug for the airbag, to take the light off. It`s got a superb service history, with full book packs and receipts for work done. I have both keys, although the spare will need a repair. I also have the all important EKA code, should the key battery ever go flat. It`s on 18" Hurricane alloys with Goodyear Wrangler tyres all round. Three of these have around 6mm tread, but the other is getting close to the limit. I have a spare, but it`s a different style. I never keep this in the car, as the LPG tank sits in the spare wheel well. I just carry a small compressor and a tin of that gunk stuff to fill the tyre with to get you to a tyre shop. Towbar with twin electric, witgh the LPG point discreetly placed next to it.
So, negative points. It`s not got the CD multichanger as it was faulty. I removed it, and seem to have lost it. I was happy with just the radio. Air Con doesn`t blow that cold. Temp gauge is slow to move. The gauge might need lubrication. I couple of minor scuffs to the front bumper, as pictured below and a smalll car park ding the size of a 50p on the rear quarter. This wouldn`t show up on a picture. The front bumper is fine, but I`m happy to get this painted for the new owner at a cost of £100 if you`re fussy and wanted it doing. I don`t have the LPG certificate, but the installation is on the autogas register, so had to be done by a reputable garage.
So, this is a P38 in the right colour, with the best colour interior. It`s had the troublesome and expensive EAS system sorted, so no problems to come with that. It`s on LPG, so a lot cheaper to run, especially on a long run. It`s been used for 7000 miles y myself, so I know how ultra reliable this has been. Please don`t confuse this with a high mileage example with 22" rims which has been neglected.
Here are the pictures. let me know if you need any additional information or specific pictures. It will have a full valet inside and out for the new owner.
