After an MOT failure, it's time for Old Blue to go. MOT runs out on April 30th, and that'll be the day it goes to the scrapyard if nobody takes it, maybe sooner. I'm going to be honest. It'll sound like a dog here, but it's not. It's been the best all round motor I've ever owned, and I'm absolutely gutted I have to get rid of it. But it's just not economically viable for me to get it repaired.
It failed the MOT on sills, seat belt mounts need welded, discs and pads all round, and a new centre rear seat belt. Done 103k (just changed the oil and filter Saturday gone prior to MOT
), engine is sound, box is sound. Rear bumper has car park bang (not sellable), rear arches are gone as usual on these. Driver's door has started to go along the bottom, and small bubbling on the front driver's wing.
Wheels could do with a refurb, interior is the half leather Recaro variety. Passenger seat has a very small cig burn that is only noticable when pointed out, and as usual, the cog on the drivers seat height adjuster has gone (crappy plastic). Motor still whirs away, but seat doesn't lift or lower.
Rest of the car is in pretty good shape.
I doubt anyone will fancy repairing it, but there are loads of good bits for anyone who wants to break it. I don't have the facilities or I might have parted it out myself.
So, there we go, I've been honest. Would hate to see it go to a scrapyard if someone on here can use some of it.
