Great to see you've got it running. That pile of wiring to start with looked pretty daunting mind. How long did it end up taking to wire? Some people take forever doing straight forward conversions but you've turned this around pretty quickly.
Would love to give something like this ago but I wouldn't know where to start with splicing the two looms together.

Great news, I liked the two 20vt Leon's I had, they were rubbish on fuel though for daily drivers, the character of my 1.6 gti was more fun to drive, especially the lift off oversteer when you don't realise you have an almost flat tyre was rather worrying. My Leon once showed an indicated 147mph when I went to Germany on holiday so would be fun in a 205! aaaaah posts like this make me so excited to finally get it on the road Great to see you've got it running. Some people take forever doing straight forward conversions but you've turned this around pretty quickly. Would love to give something like this ago but I wouldn't know where to start with splicing the two looms together. To do all the wiring probably took me about 20hours But that could be a lot less next time, I started off following current flow diagrams for Golf/Bora with AUM engine code. Then started to realise some things didn't match up properly. Then found a current flow diagram from an A3 with AUM engine code, and it had subtle differences, like can bus to the instrument cluster being pin 18&19 instead of 19&20 that the other one showed. Ended up going back over everything just to check it matched up which 95% of it did but that took a while! It's not difficult, it's all logical if you have the right diagram. Just time consuming!

Loving this build Cheers man. Lots more has been done. The wiring is finished and there's only very basic things needing done (bleed brakes, refit dash, refit rear light lenses etc) Might need a new maf sensor, it's getting a fault code for it and reading 0 g/s flow...have yet to look into it though, might just be my wiring... It's booked in for an mot on Friday!

Was averaging 35mpg. Managed 41 on a trip upto Glasgow. Love this btw! I bet this thing flys!

I don't know why it was so bad, in fact both of the ones I had were the same APP coded engine which has the small K03 no S turbo. 27 - 30 mpg was normal for the 40k miles I owned the car. In fact it was almost as bad as my 07 focus ST which never once saw over 30 mpg but your forgave it for the noise.

My LCR sounds similar, I'd regularly get 25-27 and could just reach 32 if you really nurses it everywhere but that's no fun.

Perfecltly this thing is mental.... It'll start spinning when it hits boost at 80mph, in 4th it's quite a bit faster than I anticipated

Just seen this thread tonight and have read it from the beginning. Fantastic conversion, you must keep this subtle and near standard looking inside and out for maximum sleeper effect. Love everything from the instrument cluster to the thorough and properly engineered transplant. Great work, keep the pictures coming and a sneaky vid or two would be cool!

I'll get some proper videos soon! Hopefully this weekend I've been finding out what the teething problems are, the main one being the turbo trying to leave the manifold....re-torqued the bolts and had to put a new gasket in as it burnt the old one up when it came loose also polybushing the bottom engine mount to try and stop a bit more engine movement, think that's probably why the turbo bolts loosened! I also will need to raise the front suspension, it's a little too low for my liking!

Wonder what happened to this? Makes it seem such a simple conversion, that wiring would do my head in!!
