Well since there has been a bit of a lack of RRG picture threads this year I thought I may as well contribute with the contents of my trusty little point n' shoot. I'm by no means an actual photographer and I was using a sub £70 5 year old compact thingy so apologies in advance if I took a pic of your pride and joy and it's not very good
Also, this thread was miles better the first time I wrote it (honest), so if you don't like it you can blame ProBoards and that frikken bear who just dumped upon me from a great height.
Anyway, I'll start at the beginning. This one is from my phone taken at the side of the M25 during our 5½ hour long trek from Cobham!
Ignition module was suspected, changed en route and ruled out! But we made it in the end.
Phil managed to A-frame the Renner 8 all the way from Worthing!
Lovely and virtually rust free, but best of all sporting one of these:
Gary managed to get the Simca there in one piece with zero drama.
Love that car. Want to chuck the wheels and many coils out of a plane.
Soon Steve showed up in The Dervra.
And Pete with the labour of love Doka.
Krimbo and The Chili Bros were in their Volvo of Doom with the largest tent known to mankind. I looked like something out of Dune.
Our little Gazebo Favela was growing rapidly and I set about the G&T and went for a stroll. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
What a venue this is! Being able to wander round such a historic and special place full of such amazing machinery is a truly special thing.
Can't believe there was nothing else on my camera until the Sunday! The Tat Auction was great as ever and the alcohol was flowing freely all weekend, we were even lucky enough to receive a flying visit from HARDCORE (who was in Tokyo when he got up that morning).
*Scene missing*
So we pick it up from on top of the hill on Sunday.
^ Tigra looks right at home in such illustrious company.
Where else would you see such an eclectic mix of engineering?
A combination of things conspired against me at this point meaning that by the time I fixed the Polo's gear linkage and put my (very wet) tent away it was about 1:30 when I got to the show field. I now know from seeing several sweet picture threads that I missed quite a bit. But here's some of what I did manage to get:
That's just about it. May as well chuck in this vid of me taking the Polo up the hill.
There are a few shots in my bucket o' photos that didn't make it in here, but not many at all. Hopefully I've done the event some justice, but I doubt it. Never fails to amaze each year, massive thanks to everyone who had a hand in organising and cleaning up, and also to everyone who provided such great company. Roll on RRG '16!
