I've been left with my sister's car to sell as I've sorted her out a new one, details as below:
2000 X Reg Nissan Micra 1.0 S
Automatic
Silver
73000 miles (No service history came with the car when she bought it almost 4 years ago, but it looked and sounded well-maintained)
I've serviced the car a couple of times since she's had it and bought all new filters and plugs etc genuine from Nissan. Also fitted a new Bosch battery, which I think is still under warranty.
For last year's MOT over £500 was spent purely on parts (new shocks, springs, various bushes, brake parts, couple of other bits and pieces, can't remember it all without digging out the paperwork). Also spent almost £200 on a new gearbox sensor from Nissan last year as that's a genuine-only part.
Bodywork is in more than reasonable condition. No rust anywhere at all really. The bumpers have the usual little marks. The one door has a dent, not caved in by any means, but appeared one day after being parked up in a car park. Also the paint is peeling from the tailgate in places. The tailgate has been painted at some stage with no adequate prep. I peeled the paint off more than it was peeling off to see what was going on. There's no sign of any further damaged (ie/tailgate lines up fine, no sign of any damage behind or anything at all). Car is straight and honest overall.
Interior is very clean and tidy, not really worn at all. One small burn hole on the drivers seat, which has always been there, but no signs that the car has been treated like a mobile ashtray or anything like that.
Only real downside to the car is that it seems to be using a fair bit of oil at the moment. Personally I think it's down to a blockage/breather issue, but don't really have the time to investigate it any further at the moment for a car that wouldn't be worth a great deal more even if it was perfect. It doesn't smoke particularly badly or anything like that, not enough to suggest that all the oil is being burned anyway and it's not being dropped either. It's being like this for the past 6 months now at least and until getting her new car my sister has used this as her daily driver and it's never let her down. The overall performance is not affected (It's a 1.0 with an auto box, so there's much performance overall, but for what it is, it's fine). The auto box has a Sport Mode for what it's worth. The car runs fine, starts and drives fine, doesn't overheat or anything like that.
I think being an auto it would make a cool Japanese supermini/semi-kei car project and a decent around town park anywhere runabout. The MOT expires at the end of next week and I'm sure it'll fly through, so will be sold with 12 months MOT. It also comes with a CD headunit.
I'm looking for £250, no less as I'm sure it'll see more on eBay, but would rather see it go to someone who is going to make something of it.
