Hi all,
As my new job provides me with transport through the week and the wifes car can do the weekend trips, my daily is now up for grabs ;
It's a 2000 on an X ,manual box, Rapier spec ( black ash interior/4xelec windows/CD player) in silver, 153K, MOT until Jan 2016 , towbar, roof bars (proper Peugeot ones), recent full exhaust.Inside is in really good condition and the outside is pretty good for a 15 year old car and cleans up well. ( it's even still got the boot net and working load cover ! :shock: )
A few issues to mention ; the speedo sometimes stops working for a few miles and then springs back into life. The wipers sometimes don't park at the bottom of the screen,the OBC sometimes tells me the brake fluid level is low, but this appears to be a handbrake switch issue according to the 406 forum. I had the aircon regassed a while back, which worked well for a whole 24hrs before all the gas fell out, so it has a leak somewhere in the system. The heater and climate control work as they should though.
For the next MOT,: Even though it had no advisories on the last one, I always get a service report on what may need doing in the near future, which this year was a front droplink, possible front flexi's, poss front shock, top engine mount had slight play and front discs were getting thin.( rear drums had new shoes and cylinders last year ) Like I say, none of these were bad enough to warrant an advisory notice, but I like to know what may need doing next.
Also, if anyone wants to pop over to have a look, you are more than welcome.The kettle is always on.
I have had it serviced every year at MOT time since buying it 4 years ago and I have a few invoices from previous owners including one for a new injector pump (£1200 !! ).
It currently sits on a set of 15" coupe wheels (Starfish), and I also have the original alloys.All centre caps present as well as locking nuts.
Price wise, I appreciate it's got a short MOT and may well need a few little jobs doing for the next one, but as a reliable HDi estate, ready to go I reckon she'll do someone a good turn for £250
I'm in Aston Clinton, Bucks. HP22
Thanks, Malc.
