I found this whilst idling the afternoon away and figured it would ring a few bells with people here. I've seen a few weathered models before but this has to be one of the most realistic. Lots more photos and build info here.

I had that exact same ESCI kit in the 80s. I seem to recall slamming it and chopping out the centre section to make a shortbus lol. That is impressive paint - kudos to the builder and thanks for sharing the pic and build thread. Should be more models on here - good for those of us with out a garage or budget for the 'real' stuff

Crazily realistic, he says he only finishes one model a year, can see why!

I look at this forum on my Galaxy note mainly, if there was a back ground I wouldn't have guessed this was a model, unreal!

I built that too. Mine was two-tone red and black (as was pretty much everything I built IIRC). I seem to remember it having the wheels from something else on it and it riding quite high.
not a patch on that though.

That puts my modelling skills to shame. I really should start doing it again. Brilliant weathering

Still on the road with T&T till next June How is that even possible? I assumed it was an old photo. I haven't seen a MK2 Tranny on the road for years and to think of a van in that condition getting any sort of MOT boggles the mind. I have to admire the heroic dedication to keeping an old vehicle going beyond all common sense. The chassis must have plates welded over plates, not to mention epic quantities of gaffer tape holding the rest together.
