Australian Sports Sedans [pics]

Kind of like our Super Saloon series in the 70's and 80's Australia's sports sedan classes had fields made up of all sorts of heavily modified old tat and refugee race cars from elsewhere. One of the key regs until recent times was that the roof, a/b/c posts, sills and doors should remain as factory.

Nice find

I don't normally like that many VW's, but this thing just works so well. Plus there's something about the photo that seems quite modern, guess it's very sharp with quite washed out colours.



Also like this little Fiat, looks much meaner and wider, just for being lowered and smoothed, very nice



and finally, this Volvo, because it just looks mad!

This category was very awesome! Thanks to everyone for this thread.

I've seen a few of these cars at racetracks in South Australia, they are very different to a road car! Usually with the V8 set back at least half way through the firewall and CROWNed with mechanical injection trumpets, they would certainly play a good tune from inside the car.
