    I AM DESPERATE TO GET THIS OFF MY DRIVE will listen to offers BMW 520i manual touring MOT end of Jan 2016 Located Cirencester Gloucestershire £650 Ono Welcome to the sale of this 520i touring This car drives fantastically well and has a full service history from mainly BMW and BMW specialists. The car drives faultlessly with peppy acceleration and a smooth manual gear box. The car has just had 4 new tyres fitted last week and has also had new discs and pad recently. All of the advisories where taken care of from the last MOT with the exception of the rear subframe bushes which where advised. The car has done very little millage since the last MOT so I don not believe it will fail this year. There is no noticeable play or sound from the rear bushes so I believe they will go through another Mot as they are. As previously mentioned the car drives faultlessly and is very well specced for a 520. It has leather seats which are in very good condition. The front seats are both heated which is fantastic in the winter. Both seats work well and we have certainly been enjoying them since the onset of the cold weather. The car is also fitted with cruise control which is a very useful feature and a factory fit BMW tow bar which has only ever been used to tow a small tip trailer. The engine is fantastically smooth and everything works as it should. No leaks from either the coolant or oil. It uses neither and has always been well cared for. The car does require some minor faults correcting which include. The car is due a service. This is not a fault but I thought I should mention it. The passenger wing mirror cover is missing. The wing mirror is still functional but the plastic cover is missing. In summary, if you are looking for a cheap family car that returns a reasonable MPG (averages 30.7), or something for the winter (Those heated seats will keep you snug) or maybe something to use while you renovate your house, garden etc or you need to move house and need a comfortable van then this could be what you need. It's a really nice car, I can't really understand why nobody's snaffled it. It's the perfect winter comfort bus.

Because it's a 520i which is fairly underpowered, has a months mot left and is priced at £650 which would buy you a much newer one with 12 months ticket.........

To be honest I don't find that it is underpowered, obviously it depends what you want it for. It's not a fast car but it keeps up ok and actually if driven properly much like the m50 E34 cars it's plenty able. I also have a E39 540i6 so I am well aware of how fast they can be. How ever, the 540 is exspension to run, the 520 is not. The 520 is great for driving around locally and on a long run. The 540 is great on a run, but not for anything else. I agree with your comments about the MOT. How ever, I am so confident it will pass the next one I will re MOT it for any buyer. |

I'm actually semi tempted with it myself but it would have be a more realistic price considering a 01 530d touring went for £640 the other day with 12 months ticket.....

My 2000 530d tourer made £1500 on eBay..... It had 6 months' MOT.

Cheap considering it's a desirable manual too. Interstellar mileage and location won't have helped though.

Cornwalls never a good place to flog a car from but 200k isn't a lot for a 3.0 diesel motor and is only 20-30k over what seems to be the average for a 15 yr old car. I don't know what it was hiding as that was the 2nd time it had been on auction......although could have been down to normal ebay messers.

Mine had both ABS and ASC lights on but still got decent money. No idea what the 2 litre lump is like in these, but it's not overly grunty in my E36 coupe, so image it needs a push in a big tourer.

That is EXACTLY what I'd buy if I hadn't bought the E34. Get an MOT on it and it'll sell no probs.
