Another Ginetta for me, this time in the form of a g26, Here it is, Its mechanically one of the best, Full Galv chassis, rear disk brakes (normally drum), front 4 pots, 2ltr 205 pinto, 421 manifold, power steering (normally none), electric pop up lights (normally a manual rod) and was also one of the few if not the only one to have the expensive factory option of a IRS from the ford sierra rather than the rear being cortina, drives and runs really well! Now the bad bits, everything else!! haha. I needs attention to the paint, cracks, leaks everywhere inside, the interior is complete shot and growing things which I wont be touching without gloves! Seats need to go, will be for sale cheap, this one has a rip shown Cortina dash Mouldy, needs to change or gonna try paint first! Back needs a suitable spoiler from either a ford capri or sd1 if I can find something that fits! really smooth engine Will be updating as I go along!

Oh, I likes!
It actually looks quite tidy, was also expecting the interior to look worse than it does.

Cheers,
Ive been quite keen on the interior photos, just you wait and see lol, the floors have an inch of water in them and also a previous owner has fitted 'decking' on the floor!
Should be a fun car to do tho, and cant get any worse with it being Galvanized and plastic!

did a little exhaust work yesterday fitted a cheapo back box which is nicer to look at, bit noisy tho. Last photo is dirty after use, wont look any cleaner than it does there from now on lol. Also went for a drive and no brakes, after sitting for two weeks not being used! topped up the reservoir few pumps and its back again so will need to keep an eye on it, also no oil on the floor!?!

Check the master cylinder, if its failed theres a good chance the brake fluid is going into the servo.

got the spoiler, need to figure a way of making some mounts on the boot to pick up the spoiler which is sat past the boot edge. I don't want to shorten it as I think it will look odd and the lines of the spoiler seem to suit the car well as is. Can anyone recommend a way on how to modify this type of material (is a rubbery textured finish, std ford spoiler) I want to be able to add material to it which wont come off when the wing flexes and also paint if at all possible? Edges don't actually overhang, I just gave up trying to inform how to hold/position it properly lol Also want to cut the central support out and hide the hole etc.

Really starting to get on my nerves this interior! I need to change he horrid front seats as 1 there are ugly and 2 they are completely useless, horrible sitting angle, too high and wont move forward anymore than they all ready are. So I managed to get 2 sets of runners from a cortina on here, and a pair of ford recaros from a friend at set to work! This is under the car looking up at the seat mounting nearest the center for the passenger side. Now from inside you can see that it is much higher than the runner nearest the door. I believe the floor is modeled on the cortina mk4/5 in respect to seat locations etc. With the seat placed on the runners it was plain to see that this was also no good as a solution they sit just as high if not nigher than the blue ones So the Dilemma is that I want to use these seats if possible but cant on these runners, I could.... 1. Cut the floor out on the tunnel, modify the seat mounting locations and reglass it all 2. Go with different seats of some sort that wouldnt be as deap on the base. I really like the seats but redoing the floor is going to take me months and take the car off the road so probably not the best thing to do, Id really like to know how thin std cortina seats are!! Id get a set of cortina ones but not interested in traveling miles and miles for this car so would have to wait for something local to appear! .... I hate this car lol

So still no seats but I think I've found something that will help.... Picking up the turbo, manifold, oil pipes tomorrow. Manifold is stainless but not the best welds, as long as it's usable I don't care. Then I'll need the efi inlet manifold, all the other gubbins and will use the dta out of the green ginetta and swap it about depending on which car I'll use! Will probably use a decomp plate but only interested in 6-7 psi anyway. Quite tempted still to try a draw thru set up with a carb as I've never tried that type of setup before??? So yes...... still no where to sit lol
