Still got this, it's currently mot less and sat on the drive with various sections ground out of the body and filled back up.
Plan is quick body fixes, star cracks etc taken care of and then coach paint style it maybe adding intergrale style arches too for the hell of it.
Need to investigate a power steering leak too from the passenger side somewhere. My knowledge of sierra racks is zero so have been bravely ignoring the fact it needs doing! :/

got the spoiler, need to figure a way of making some mounts on the boot to pick up the spoiler which is sat past the boot edge. I don't want to shorten it as I think it will look odd and the lines of the spoiler seem to suit the car well as is. Can anyone recommend a way on how to modify this type of material (is a rubbery textured finish, std ford spoiler) I want to be able to add material to it which wont come off when the wing flexes and also paint if at all possible? Edges don't actually overhang, I just gave up trying to inform how to hold/position it properly lol Also want to cut the central support out and hide the hole etc. I'm certainly no capri expert...but unless I am mistaken that is no standard capri spoiler...I'm fairly certain its a rs motorsport item which I assume would be worth quite a few beer tokens in the right circles?!! (unless you have butchered it by now?)

Not butchered in fact utterly no use to anyone the bolts that bonded in to the spoiler had ripped the molding and sides wouldn't stay on it was scrap in the end and got chucked!

Well Since Ive got no time spare with restarting my imp project which is a long term one that needs finishing I'm enlisting the help of someone to aid initially getting this back on the road MOT'd and modify the floor mounting locations for the seats for me so I can fit anything into it.
Then next year it will be look into doing something with the engine and bodywork.
Is a nice running 205 pinto and type 9 5speed worth much money? theres an urge to find a rover v8 and matching manual box to drop in, not interested in overall power just want that v8 noise and it would be my first ever big engine!

Type 9s are quite pricey, not sure about pintos. You could always look a bit newer re engines, bmw or 1uz, quite alot more power, more reliable, lots of cheap spares etc..

I could but I'm a fan of the older bigger engine. Say a rover v8 on carbs.
Not as much power but the noise is something I've never had and feel I need lol.

Well in two pages this car has seemingly gone from one idea to another bounced off something else and ended up sat as is!
Time for a change of tact. Just waiting to confirm collection arrangements then its going to get the floor/seats sorted out, and I want a rover v8 and manual box installing then the bodywork/paint, most likely the easiest option of leaving it yellow.
Wheels, need to understand the offsets and overall sizes needed but currently feeling a split size 16 up front with 17 rears would be interesting.
I want this car to be full of things Ive never had before so v8 and staggered size wheels to start with, then see what else takes my fancy!

Assuming your arches are similar to mine I found a 17x8j et 25 to sit pretty much flush at the rear currently looking at a 215/45/17 on it.

Cheers for the info, is it the same for the front of yours? I think that part is the same on both of ours!

Nice looking at original stuff in the file. Got more bits including information on the 1 of 2 chassis that came with sierra rear end rather than the std cortina live axle which this has. Gutted no rear spoiler selected as an option though, will be fitting a ducktail style one which are made for the bmw.

I was going to put the same on the front but we are doing all custom arms so not sure how it would sit on the original Cortina stuff. Nice looking at original stuff in the file. Well not much to update on yet really as work has yet to start but the cars had a good look over.
Won't bother with mot now as lots will change.
V8 will fit in nicely so that will happen
Exhausts with much bending will be able to have one either side of the rear (I find this important for v8 setups!)
Rear lights have got a plan to address those.
Arches will be easy to ammend
And that's about it for now!

Small update for the new year, need to get more funds on the case to get things moving quicker but this has given the motivation to get going! Much better at the back end now, minor change but gets rid of the horrible and not very reliable turd rear lights!

What's really funny though is how the boots not closed and the centre sticker is level! Hahaha.
The lights are just universal ebay jobbies the guy found for me in his random stash of parts.

Hum. Not sure what the final out come will look like yet, the cars gonna change colour yet too.
The lights might get more closed up on rather than the big box opening that still exists. Time will tell how it ends up 😀
