Since the last meet was a success, I'm going to try and make these little Saturday lunch meetups a regular thing. Admittedly, I myself am not likely to hang around too long for this particular one due to various projects needing a lot of my time in the coming weeks, but I'll still show up seeing as I live within shouting distance.
This one will be on Saturday the 9th of April, at about noon.
Parking is ample, there's space for 10 or 12 in the gravely tarmac car park, and 10 or so more along the road in front of the pub. Much more around the village.
The pub is easily found: SO213DU - Brown signs on the A33.
Hungry? Lunchtime: fancy sandwiches, £8 with chips. Hot mains from £10 ish. Bowls of chips available. Food is tripadvisor approved.
That's the short of it. Details/fine print below.
The address is:
The Northbrook Arms
Stratton Lane

The fine print:
All we have to do is be all lovely and stuff. No revving like a nutter in the village, it's in the middle of nowhere.
If one of the neighbours so much as coughs, the neighbourhood watch get their binoculars out. If the police show up in the village, don't drop everything and run: it's just our local friendly policewoman, and she's not mean like them nasty bum chinned chiseled jaw traffic cops in their silly BMW's with neons and stickers.
The main courses range from about £10 to about £18 for the really poncey things, however they also do some fancy sandwiches with a side of enormous chips for just £8 only at lunch time.
The prices might seem steep, but the portion sizes are good. There's also a large selection of beers and ales on offer, if you're not driving.
If this meet is a success, then for the next one we can look at booking the stables at the back of the pub, cost dependent. In the stables, we find a slightly different menu, a different atmosphere, and a traditional skittle alley that we can play with.
In the warmer months, theres a massive green outside the pub that is filled with tables and umbrellas, and its all nice and summery and things.
I don't want to see you improving your drift angles past the church.
Nor do I want to see any fat elevens outside the pub for three reasons:
1) You'll look a right plonker, and give you and the forum a bad name.
2) You'll give the mostly elderly population of about 65 people a heart attack. All 65 of them at the same time.
3) This is my village, I live here, and doing naughty bits outside the pub is my job.
