Might be oppotunists with a trailer , waiting at services near to shows . I suspect people hanging around cars in the car park and fiddling with them would not attract much attention . I thing caravan theft from services is fairly common , just hitch up and go , maybe that happened here .

I cant understand it with yanks though , surely the scene is small enough for people to notice whats being sold ? Then again if its a show car it might go back to the states .

They are definately amongst us .

This is very true, the word was already put around within half an hour of the first post on FB. Everyone i know in the yank car circuit knows that this is nicked and are on the look out for it. Even my car media friends knew about its disappearance and were putting the word out as its such a distinct car.

Someone somewhere is going to buy a suspiciously cheap engine sometime though !!! I suppose thats the element that does not give a dam as long as they are having fun !


From the programme on TV last year about stolen Jags etc going abroad with fake V5s it cannot be that difficult for it to maybe go back to America .

Doubt its going back to the USA, more likely its been stolen by someone who has a project car and wants to take the short cut to have it restored, and swap the vin/plates over.

It was Stolen from the Spread Eagle Pub on the A5 just 6 minutes after they went inside. Someone must have spotted it in the show, and waited in the car park for it to leave. If it was mine, this would be enough for me to call it a day on cars....... no point having something nice when arsebandits just take it from you.

This is one of the things that worries me with my cars, as I love to show them at local events, but on the flip side, I've already had a couple of people ask about the Holden for banger racing, and a Polish bloke ask about the Lada. Last thing I want is to get the cars sorted, then have to worry after every show

My '74 celica went missing a week after showing it. I wont bother with a classic now they are on the scum's radar. I got something modern and fun, that even a locksmith couldnt make a working duplicate key for.
