So, unfortunately I'm looking to find a new home for my Honda SMX. I had this car imported for me late last year from Japan. It's therefore in as new condition underneath, it literally looks a year or 2 of it's 15 years of age under there! I've been suckered in by the temptation of the Golf R leasing deals!
Basics:
Make: Honda
Model: SMX
Colour: Black
Year: 2001
Engine size: 1997cc (B20B)
Fuel type: Petrol
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 62300ish (showing around 101k km)
MOT: 26/01/17
Registered in UK: 11/02/16
Price: £2250
Location: Edinburgh
Contact email: em177@ymail.com
Paperwork: All the original owners manuals, import paperwork etc
Drivetrain:
The SMX uses a 2 litre 4 Cylinder petrol engine as found in relatives such as the CRV. Its' a fairly bullet proof little thing. It develops around 128bhp and is mated to a 4 speed auto box (with overdrive!) and is really smooth to waft around in. It doesn't use any oil, and starts first time.
Interior:
Inside being the later model it has a dark grey cloth with white piping. If you've read anything about these cars they're remarkably practical and flexible little things. It's a 4 seater which can be converted into a double or single bed as required in seconds! Condition wise it's again very very tidy, with everything working as it should. It has air con, power steering, CD player, electric windows, electric mirrors etc.
Exterior:
These are really funky things outside. This example even more so because it has the OEM Honda Modulo bodykit fitted. It's in very good condition as you would expect from a recent import. There are the odd little stone chip here and there but nothing to worry about. Main thing to note is a chunky dent in the passenger wing. I was intending to get a dent guy to come sort it but to be honest I've never had the chance. It's had a full machine polish on the body and also the headlights (to remedy an advisory on the MOT) as they were all cloudy.
Wheels/Tyres:
The Wheels are Honda OEM Modulo to match the bodykit, they are in very good condition with no flaking etc. Tyres are all JDM specials, however have plently of grip and are 5/6mm all round.
Summary:
I know if you can find one of these things they can be had pretty cheap but this is a very late example, recently imported and in great condition so I feel it's worth a few quid more than the rest. Go phone an importer and see how much more it would cost than this to get one! When you think what you'd pay for an equivalent European mini camper (VW etc), these really are a little bargain!
I really want it to go to a good home and someone to have as much fun with it as I have.
