Having bought the SIMCA rallye 2 ex Youngtimer racer, my 133 trackcar is now surplus to requirements. It is fitted with a SIMCA 1000 Rallye 2 engine (1294cc) with Rallye 3 race cam and runs on Honda CBR600 bike carbs. Suspension brakes have been modified to cope so now has front discs, proper ball joints and rack & pinion from a late SIMCA 1000. Adjustable coilovers are fitted all round. Has adapted FIAT124/LADA roll cage, front rad, Davies Craig water pump.... Much more. Comes with some spare panels, Choice of wheels with Yoko track rubber. Paintwork is 'patchy' in umpteen shades of somewhere near the original moss green. The necessary welding was done when converted. I look on it as a sort of 'poor man's Abarth' . It's never been on the road since I converted it. Real fun on the track and really nimble for Autotest/slalom type events. Looking for around £1600.... but..... I have various SIMCA projecte on the go so would listen to offers for the rolling shell as basis for different mechanicals and I keep the SIMCA engine. Have various bits for other possible transplants.. e.g. Honda D16A9 CRX twin cam on twin Dellortos mated to SIMCA 1000 gearbox, Renault UN1 box and 'Douvrin 2 Litre engine.. .... Come and have a look...... I'm at Chesterfield Derbyshire 6 0r 7 miles from J29 M1 Mick Ward 01246 200045 or 07713111339 scukmick@aol.com

Was provisionally sold but 'definite' buyer never turned up.... so back up for sale. Anyway, after starting problems I found the SIMCA engine was far more worn than I'd thought.... one too many trackdays..!! I have SIMCA 1118 and 1204cc engines and could rebuild one to get it running OK again. Or willing to sell as rolling shell as basis for bike enmgine etc. conversion.... offers.. Come and have a look.

I saw a rally one last night on YouTube and love how small and chunky these are, esp with bumpers removed. I wonder what it would take to make it road legal?

To make it road legal..... Lights... are all there, headlamps themselves work but some work needed on adjusters plus a bit of tidying up on the wiring. . It currently has an ignition switch in the dash as the original one with the steering lock was burnt out when I got it (apparently a regular 133 fault) Not sure whether a '76 car would need the steering lock.. Wipers work OK, Heater still in car, not currently Tee'd into front to rear cooling pipes. As a practical road car,, , the front 'boot' is taken up with a small alloy fuel tank, the electric water pump, the radiator and battery, Have a new bumper which could be fixed to make current exhaust more legal. Interior stripped out (still has roof lining) and just has front seats..' tatty 'Ears' & Cobra race seats with harnesses...a tight fit in the tiny car. Some spares come with it... new rear hub 'flexible joint'... one side replaced already, rear and side widow glass (car has lexan in those), spare windscreen, passenger door and front bonnet plus spare 5'5 x13 GB alloy (as used on front. For track use I didn't bother with an alternator. I'd adapted the FIAT alternator to fit to the SIMCA engine with a Simca 1100 belt. It comes with it but needs a connection resoldering. I can supply a Honda Civic alternator which we've adapted in the past to run on SIMCA engines (anticlockwise rotation like the 133's original engine and the rear engine SIMCAs.

Am open to offers for it as rolling shell for your own engine/box transplant. Otherwise I'll put it back into 'mothballs' with a view to getting it road legal once I've finished my SIMCA 1200S coupe.

Bump... I had a 'definite' buyer who wanted the rolling shell.... so definite he never even turned up to look at it. Am open to offers for the rolling shell as the engioe is definitely US...but could provide parts to rebuild a SIMCA engine. ..... As I said above, otherwise it will go into 'mothballs' waiting for. one day being made road legal. Mick scukmick@aol.com 01246 200045

You really have to stare at these for a moment to realise they are not a Fiat 126. It's especially apparent when viewed in context with other cars, for example against the Mk2 Fiesta in the picture above to realise how much bigger than a 126 they are.

Very few 133s were sold in the UK in 1975 & 6. I'm told FIAT dealers didn't like them because, despite the similar 'look', they didn't share a single panel with either the 126 or the 127. The number left in the UK probably now doesn't reach double figures. I've been asked..'why in that case did you modify it so?? '. Simple answer... I wanted a small rear engined FIAT to do a SIMCA engine transplant and the 133 was the cheapest route and came along at the right time. The original FIAT bits I didn't use went to a guy with a mint original 133 and another he was working on. When 133 production finished in Europe in the 70's, production moved to Argentina where they were made for many more years and there were loads of modified ones out there.

Have decided to offer this as a rolling shell @ £650, with or without SIMCA gearbox... which I think will take the anti clockwise rotating FIAT 850, 903 etc engines. I need the cam and other bits from its current engine to build another race SIMCA engine. Could supply 944,1118 or 1204 version of the SIMCA engine rebuilt with ~SIMCA 1200S (fast road) cam (same as Rallye 2) on single weber DCNF with negotiation re. price.... I need the space to complete my other projects.
