I have some stuff I can donate. But I'm not going to gathering. I have a bonnet and boot for an mx5, probably some other curse word too. I'm driving down from Harwich, I could pick some stuff up and transport it? Would be a large detour most likely. I'm in Bedfordshire, just outside of luton

We got some left over braking system tat from a Mitsubushi Colt, all usable stuff. What time is the auction? We may actually already be gone before it starts... If you've left before the auction starts you'll miss the entire show! The auction is on SATURDAY evening

Brilliant Fun - I've never made it to a tat auction before - here is Kev selling a small bit of my tat I got a very suitable emergency repair kit (WD40, Duct Tape a Hammer and cable ties) - useful for the track car and an alloy rad for an S13 (eventually - don't you just hate it when you think the bidding has reached the final point and someone kicks it all off again) #dontownS13 I was however surprised at how many Daihatsu parts were donated - then I realised one very nice chap who kept bidding on them had clearly donated his spares collection and then was buying them back in aid of charity - what a wonderful thing to do..... Over £1000 raised for charity and then an interesting one to one with Paul Venners and Andy Frost all with a couple of beers and a fish and chip super - damn life is good

The tat auction was great, chuffed to bits with my boot rack, I just need to buy a sports car now to fit it too. 😂

I still don't know what I'm going to do with 25ltrs of really old atf?! bstardchild I think that's the 'toolkit' my lad ended up with as it was in the pile of unclaimed chod this afternoon. If you want it back I'll reclaim it from our thomas and send it over. I also got a half garbled message about some sort of arrangement with the radiator? I hope that was true?

I'm glad to see the back of that Alfa 155 wing and doubly glad to have only managed to buy good tat. Possibly with the exception of "that" spoiler.

I won the banded steel service from Mr Speedy! Just as well being as I had a set of steels in my boot ready to be banded! Props to MrS for effectively donating a fair wad of cash to charity! The only issue is I've not paid anyone yet so if one of the organisers could PM me telling me where I'm to pay I'll get it sorted :-)
Cheers for a great weekend!

I want to thank everyone who attended, donated spectated, helped and bid! I spent most of sunday telling people we'd done around 1100 quid, we actually forgot about mrspeedy's very kind wheel banding donation so we are actually at around 1300 quid! We have a plan to streamline paying and collection next time too, and to include more daihatsu parts...
Thanks again everyone!!

Its 'pending' dude, as due to my lack of organising ability it'll never get done. Expect a hotwire based thread asap

bstardchild I think that's the 'toolkit' my lad ended up with as it was in the pile of unclaimed chod this afternoon. If you want it back I'll reclaim it from our thomas and send it over. No worries it was perfect for track car prep and I used to run a signature line which was "there are three things in life you need - if it moves and it shouldn't use duct tape or cable ties - if it doesn't move and it should use WD40" So the collection was quite apt I also got a half garbled message about some sort of arrangement with the radiator? I hope that was true? Apparently..... This is a bit of a long story as all good RRG stories should be - please feel free to skim to the end.... It was my first tat auction - Unbelievable I've been to every show since Mallory and here I was in RRG16 a "tat auction virgin" - show stuff has always stopped participation (not because we are still working - don't be silly it's freaking dark at 7.30 and if we haven't got everything done by Sat night we really are in the sticky brown stuff - similar to campsite mud but smells worse) but because we are knackered frankly but this year I'd made some resolutions (covered in a pre RRG16 thread) Last year nearly broke a lot of people who help with this event because frankly it had stopped being fun and had turned into a bloody ball breaker - my resolutions were to try and make sure it went back to being fun REMOVED - because it would be better elsewhere just not sure where!!!! Anyway I had thrown some stuff into the tat auction and also intended to buy something because it's for charity. My intention was to bid against Monza Phil (As a comedy element for the good people of RR who know we are both Monza addicts or commonly known as "Opel Fruits") for the very rare Monza fuse box cover with all four lugs intact that I'd donated - that way I either pay to buy it back again or it goes for a few quid for a good cause - best laid plans almost worked and dumbfounded me as someone else bid him up!!! It was at this point that I realised the whole event had a huge comedy element - not just the brilliant auctioneering skills of kevfromwales but the whole RR collective were actively trying to bid each other up - the only way I could describe it was a comedy version of musical chairs where the music (bidding) stops you are left with the "chod" and pay up Anyway trying to get back to topic - I'd seen kevfromwales earlier in the day with a substantial pile of "chod" and in that pile was a rad - bit scruffy some fin damage but when I looked at it the inlet and outlet were in Monza orientation. Now my Monzadore project has stalled - one of the issues is the Monza rad I used when it was a Monza is two core and struggled with keeping temps down - the 3.0 24 is being replaced with a 3.7 24V and needs a bigger rad. The old rad won't fit in the space occupied previously by the Commodore rad and certainly won't cope with the 3.7 The Commodore rad was pretty much toast and is also single core so would be a really bad move. So there was this battered but apparently sound alloy rad that dimensionally look perfect had hose orientation that was correctly sided and it was gonna be in the auction so winner winner chicken dinner. So early evening I used an opportunity to make a bunch of people riding around the campsite in the bed of a pick up churning up the orchard do something useful and be productive (collecting tat) - not realising that MrSpeedy had already been tasked with the campsite to barn delivery process - sorry fella - it seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway I got to the Tat auction I won the rad - I think I won it for £40 or £45 - that didn't matter tigran had written it down but realised I was light on cash so spoke to Kev and he said fine he'll look after it and I'd settle up the following day after the show (sorry Tat auction virgin) On Sunday afternoon while I was in the Paddock supposedly working (watching all the RWYB people pretty much run themselves up the hill - most obedient and best behaved cats that the paddock Team gewy and Bill have ever had the pleasure of herding I must add) and a chap asks me if I had purchase the S13 Rad in the auction - he explains he's damamged his rad he's stuck in Stanford Bridge and could he buy it from me so he can swap out his leaky one and get home. This placed me in a quandary - I wanted the rad to check out size and fitment - I wasn't intending to use it - it could be leak free but I'm not about to take that chance with a brand new engine - if it fitted I was gonna order the highest spec one I could because it would still be a 1/3 of the price of a custom one and I could get an S13 alloy rad almost of the shelf. But here I had a guy who needed it - so I said sure I think I pay £40 for it take it - get your car fixed but I actually wanted it for a sizing exercise so contact me after the event and we can work out a way of getting your damaged one to me and then I've still got what I needed an S13 rad to trial fit. I settled up with Kev at the end of the show gave him back the entire proceeds of the tat auction (I'd had it for safe keeping and gave him the additional £40 - so I may owe another fiver to the pot) When the show finished there was a battered OE plastic ended ally rad by the sign on hut never saw anyone drop it off - I am assuming it's S13 and I can use it for fitment purposes and I've dragged the thing back to Norfolk - if it's not then I'm about to base my cooling system around a rad that's from something else....... So it would be nice to know what I dragged back - If I Have a damaged S13 rad or just some random rad that appeared?? Told you to skip to the end..............

That sounds like an extended version of what I got. Lol
You've got at least one of their contact details anyway as one of the group were in that Mk3 escort estate with the rs turbo lump and rust effect paint that was running up the hill.
