Introduction to me and my 190e

Just found this terrific site by chance while searching for info on an old Piranha alarm on my 1991 Mercedes 190e which has suddenly decided to resurrect itself and immobilize the car on the way back from Asda!!! 

I love classic cars  from the 70's 80's and 90's and currently have a black 190e 1.8 which i love and use as a daily driver thought i would load some pictures to introduce us to you guys

When i bought the car she was feeling sorry for herself with a blown head gasket and gear change issues I have done the head gasket and had a garage sort the auto box (beyond my capabilities ) 
I have also changed the Idle Control Valve and fitted the AMG alloys

I have decided to take her on a pilgrimage back to Stuttgart in October Starting off with a 100 mile drive up to Hull over to Zeebrugge then to the Nurburgring, then on to a place called Worms for an overnight stay then on to Stuttgart for a day around the museum and a chance for some good pictures hopefully then next morning off to Dusseldorf for another night and then back to the Ferry and home at the end of the week a total of 1087 miles
Really looking forward to a good old road trip in the Benz I will up date some pictures on my return sure there will be a story or two to be told

Nice. The 1.8's seem very prone to blowing their head gaskets for some reason.

I really like the 190E, always have. I remember looking at them not that long ago and they still seemed fairly fancy and advanced for its time.

I think they have a very timeless shape, Mercedes did it very well.

Thanks all for the kind comments Your right BT they do seem to have a timeless shape.I have always been a petrol head and when i started out driving in 1987 i always wanted a 190 i thought they were epic cars but my budget only stretched to old Escorts, Cortinas, Mini's etc and the odd Chevette
So after my last car a 1977 Dolomite 1300 ( I may upload some some pictures of the restoration of the Dolly) i thought lets get a 190!

Good luck with the alarm, my Range over had a piranha fitted when I got it, It seemed pretty much impossible to get a fob etc for it so it ended up in the bin, the immobiliser is fairly easy to take out just takes a while to trace the wires to where the cut has been made and join them back together.

As you can see below the pesky Piranha is no more
40 quid later and she is back as MB intended This Auto electrician is highly recommended if anyone in local area needs anything i would recommend this lad he is reasonable and good
