Decided I needed something a little more 'retro' in my life. I do have a few 97 - 98 Volvo's, but they still feel so modern. It was time to start looking and wondering about what to have. I like BM's but have had many, have had Merc 190's, numerous early Japanese things, a couple of Jag XJ6's etc but I wanted something reasonably big, reasonably square and reasonably funky and other than a few Japanese motors and the odd Yank, I couldn't think of much I fancied....until I saw this. Have so far done various service bits, hacked 1.5 coils off front and back (with the recommended spring compressor), changed discs and pads and currently sat it on some monoblock wheels as my AMG Penta style wheels were the wrong PCD! It's rather dirty in the shots because she has been sat in the garage for a while, but once I sort some weeping on the rear shafts, she should be out in the sunshine..

It was (maybe is) due to have these wheels on. I'm in the middle of a hubcentric / possible machine out / possibly hit the wings / possibly roll the arches nightmare at the moment.. Top tip: Before getting some wheels refurbed, make sure they fit your car! I purchased these as Merc AMG style Penta, 5x112...turns out they are 5x120 lol

I love it! I've recently been dreaming of one day owning a W116 so seeing this pop up has made me quite jealous!!

Ended up with two sets of hubcentrics Neil. Long story short, (due to bolts not fitting etc, etc) I would have to drill the wheels and make my arches wider.
In the end, I gave up and am selling the wheels. They are currently on ebay.

Always had a soft spot for the 116s.
I would love to add a 450SEL 6.9 to my collection at some point, but I think they've gotten out of my price range.
Has this one got a manual box? Or is it running the auto?

I really need to keep on top of my W126. Hopefully it will be as desirable as the 116 in time.
