Firstly, I apologise for starting off the sticker domino effect but as you said I wanted to see where I was going. It seemed logical to me to put it at the opposite side from the steering wheel. I just chuckled to myself - how unlucky was I to have a LHD car sign on first and be at the front of the paddock as a shining beacon of what we wanted sticker wise - only at RRG Secondly, I went up the hill in 2014 and it was like night and day. It put me off going up last year so I am glad I did this time. Signing on and moving your car the night before made it a lot easier in my eyes and there seemed to be a lot less waiting around and better organisation this time. So thank you for all your hard work. Last year was better than 2014 - just a little bloody wet!!!! Thanks for your positive feedback - aim for 2017 is 4 runs both groups in the morning

From my pov, driving a left hooker, the sticker thing doesnt bother me, ive still got the one since RRG14 there. Its in side the swept area of my wipers, but i do have a large windscreen though. I feel the set up was far superior to RRG14 and ran smoother for me in the afternoon session.I do have to thank the crew for recognizing my special needs in regard to needing a bigger turning circle than most to go on further runs after the first and allowing me to go first in successive runs. Apparently the hearse was getting a lot of appreciation as it went up the hill, i couldn't tell as i was concentrating a little The changeover was a bit fun as we got differing info from the written instructions compared to the two sets of differing instructions delivered verbally in regard of car positioning and drivers briefing. The only complaint i have heard from spectators was that the change over didnt fall well if you were at the top of the hill taking photos on the corners. As they had no time to walk down, get food and get back, as the single food wagon up the hill was somewhat busy, so perhaps another food wagon up there next year if poss?? Thats all i can think of right now. Just a big thank you to all the staff involved in making it run so well !

Personally from a morning competitors perspective I think everything was pretty much perfect on the hill so I'm afraid I don't have anything constructive to add. I'm one for getting places early and turning up at 7am was definitely the right choice as it allowed me to get signed on and then relax and watch all the awesome RWYB and guest vehicles arrive. Top marks to the lovely ladies at sign on for getting everybody swiftly processed and huge respect to the paddock crew and hill marshals for keeping everyone organised and safe during the day. Really looking forward to next year already if you'll have me again ? Best regards David Merrick

I had an absolute blast! It was so much better organised than previously and once I'd sussed that the van only fitted through a couple of bits of the paddock due its ridiculous roof height we were all good on each return. Roll on next year! Now was that my left or your left?

Like many others I'm actually struggling to see how you might improve it - any better and you'll be running it better than the Shelsley crew run their own hillclimbs! Only thing I noticed was the delay getting the afternoon groups in due to the sign on, but since I'd signed on in the morning we just chilled out for a while -= like has been said before this sounds like it'll be all sorted next time. Also like the idea of commentator notes - they do this at Prescott and it works well. If you really wanted to push the boat out you could even do a sort of grid walk and talk to a few owners while they're in holding. Roll on next year and more of the same I'd say!

Yeah it's what we need to get right next time - very easily solved I hope - just lay down 4 simple statements and leave all the times out of it Lunch time break is flexible depending on the finishing time of the morning session - could be anywhere from midday to 1pm. 1. Sign on open all morning - please sign on before lunch 2. Assemble cars from 1215 at the assembly point 3. We'll come and get you when we are ready to get you into the paddock and we'll bring you all in together 4 When you are in the paddock and parked - go to the black Barn by the start line for the briefing which will be held shortly after

Ooh that's a good idea - first two runs could be car introductions - name and spec - then get Paul Venners on a walk about - he could get in the way of as many pictures as I do then

Had not been up the hill at an RRG since Prescott in the FIAT 133. Everything seemed to go really smoothly this year. well done.!!1 I didn't see the problems re. lunchtime signing on as I was running as a guest and already signed. I enjoyed the runs up the hill even more than when I used to hillclimb and sprint competitively.... always in a SIMCA (except a short spell with a vitesse and Magenta kitcar). could be something to do with now having got a car that goes properly..... but also the atmosphere that RRG adds to everything. Many thanks too for the help re. repairing my trailer wing at the end of the day. Mick

The commentator had notes by the sounds of it? He was certainly listing a few specs of the cars as they went up.

The commentator had notes by the sounds of it? He was certainly listing a few specs of the cars as they went up. Yep all the info from the final line up thread and guest car thread was tabulated and divided into morning and afternoon information pavks for him, he also did some of his own digging which is why on some cars he was remarkably well informed. Did the same last year but after the first two runs of morning or afternoon it could potentially be a bit repetative - that's why I quite like the idea of a brundle esque grid walk - he could then pick up on a few of the last min drop ins where I had limited info to provide

Couldn't do it without Gillian and Tash keeping us pointing in the right direction (as all good ladies do) Really looking forward to next year already if you'll have me again ? Best regards David Merrick Hell yes - can't believe you even asked - anyway next year will be so smooth all the paddock crews will be asking for a passenger rides and the thing will run itself..... Dibs on a pass ride in a white MKII Escort with castrol stripes please - any idea who I need to ask???

As a spectator at the hill, I'd say it all went very smoothly. A couple of very minor "that would have been nice..." thoughts : Tannoy. Depending where you were (near RR merchandise stall was bad) it was difficult to hear as speakers up the hill were loud but out-of-synch with the ones at the bottom. Good volume but poor clarity. No surprise - just basic physics. No bins at spectator points along the track. Plenty by the food stalls at the bottom of the track but (as I found out walking up the hill with a burger & drink) no bins along the path or at the spectator points on the track. Last year I walked up the bottom esses to spectate and got no further. This year I had more time so went to the finish and beyond to have a look around the cars that had just run and were at the top. I'll not spoil the surprise for anyone who decides to do the same next year. Maybe a sign "The world ends here" or similar would be informative? Some of the food prices seemed ok but I thought the tea/coffee was a tad expensive. Good points? Everything else - the unusual food stalls were appreciated (goat curry mmm )

As a spectator at the hill, I'd say it all went very smoothly. Excellent - you are my first spectator viewpoint feedback A couple of very minor "that would have been nice..." thoughts : Tannoy. Depending where you were (near RR merchandise stall was bad) it was difficult to hear as speakers up the hill were loud but out-of-synch with the ones at the bottom. Good volume but poor clarity. No surprise - just basic physics. OK - but we were using Shelsley equipment so it's probably like that at race meetings - would be nice to understand if we could improve No bins at spectator points along the track. Plenty by the food stalls at the bottom of the track but (as I found out walking up the hill with a burger & drink) no bins along the path or at the spectator points on the track. I didn't litter pick this year but last year there were quite a few bins at various locations up to the top - they do tend to mainly be in areas close to escape roads etc Last year I walked up the bottom esses to spectate and got no further. This year I had more time so went to the finish and beyond to have a look around the cars that had just run and were at the top. I'll not spoil the surprise for anyone who decides to do the same next year. Maybe a sign "The world ends here" or similar would be informative? PM me because I've been up the hill twice on race days and I haven't got a clue to what you are referring too - and I'm normally quite observant for the unusual.... or completely oblivious of it!!! Some of the food prices seemed ok but I thought the tea/coffee was a tad expensive. I did have two really nice flat whites - but they were delivered to me so I don't know how much they were but they were great coffees - slightly off the Hill topic Good points? Everything else - the unusual food stalls were appreciated (goat curry mmm ) Yet again I missed out on Goat Curry - I'm gonna have to stop doing this track stuff Thanks for your comments Cheers Ian

I had a spare seat in the Escort all morning apart from my 4th run when I had Tash's dad on the pace notes. Next year there's an open invite to any of the organisers to ride shotgun although I think someone has already called dibs 😉

All went like clockwork from my perspective. By the 3rd run I even started remembering where I was going! You made me laugh early on in the day Mark - I said to you "you've been up the hill before so it should be easy" and you replied - "I've slept a few times since then and probably forgotten"
