First time at RRG....

Our first time down to RRG, and a bit of a drive from Edinburgh!

Think we were one of the last additions to the campsite about 6.30pm, and was pretty muddy by then! Couldn't have been helped though and we got pitched up fine. Great atmosphere in the campsite and spent ages chatting to other enthusiasts about our cars (black 3dr Cosworth and Magenta Sapphire Cosworth). Discovered the bar about 10pm and stayed till closing...when we had a few more in the gazebo and had some new friends join us, which wanted to learn Scottish words ha! We made sure we picked up all our litter as surely that's just common courtesy?

First time at a hill climb and thought it was well managed and seemed to be fairly constant all day. Plenty of facilities and all the organisers were really helpful and seemed to be enjoying themselves also. Fantastic selection of cars to look at (we usually do the Ford only shows) and spent ages looking around the show field and think the retro parking was a great touch.

Will deffo be back and plan to get a few more mates involved next year with retro motors.

We did come across one form of bell-endry however....driving down road to campsite and had a white B plate Nissan saloon flying towards us. He locked up and went up on embankment but then kept it planted as he went past us with stones etc kicking up. Not cool mate.

B plate Nissan didn't seem to take any notice of a request from me to park it up on saturday evening either when it was churning up the camp site track. Shame we don't know who the driver was as he might then find his application for camping next year declined.......

It was the same one that went up the hill at Prescott last time RRG was held there I believe. It's the only person I could complain about all weekend tbf

I even asked him to stop when I saw you were signalling...I just got "We don't care mate" then sped off.

Shame the driver of said Nissan thought his driving was too good to share, and to be honest was the only spot of dickish driving I saw all weekend. Kinda glad to hear it wasn’t just us that he annoyed.

Deffo going for the Friday option next year, or very early Saturday!

Friday evening is the best, i have some vague memories of a brown campervan which had a closet full of curse word eastern block booze, great night that was!
