As seen at RRG.
This 2.0 manual CB Accord has covered 138,000 miles, but still starts on the button and the engine and box are perfect.
Four e/w, central locking, PAS
You may notice it is far from stock, naturally. It has the following modifications.
Brand new Generic eBay coilovers - for an EG Civic but adapted to fit. It rides very nicely on open roads. It is VERY low, the mudflaps catch on cats eyes and the exhaust scrapes a little if the road is heavily cambered. There is some scope for upwards adjustment.
Brand new Impul Hoshino Racing replicas, in 15x8 ET20. These are only available in 4x100 so have 15mm 4x100 to 4x114.3 adaptors, again brand new.
Brand new Boto tyres - 185/55R15. I believe these are copies of a Bridgestone tyre. They have reasonably low road noise and are rated well for wet grip.
Brand new rear Japspeed upper camber arms
Brand new Nardi replica steering wheel and wheel boss
Brand new neo chrome gear know with correct shift pattern engraving and brand new leather-esque gaiter
Brand new neo chrome tuner nuts with key
Brand new neo chrome bumper "quick release" fasteners, with body coloured zip ties no less!
Brand new ultra white side light and headlamps bulbs
Brand new yellow 100W main beam bulbs
Brand new aluminium (not pressed) import sized number plates
Brand new clear side repeaters from a CRV with silver bulbs
Brand new wing mirrors inported from the States, the driver's side has the 'Object in mirror are closer than they appear' text etched into the glass
Brand new front corner lamps
Brand new Honda 'H' bootlid badge
Brand new generic extruded foam front bumper lip
Red tinted rear clusters - just film, easy to peel off if you're not loving the look
Exterior repaint in Montana Satin Lumious Green. It's graffiti paint - hard-wearing, satin, and has a texture to it. Its not perfect, and the shuts are still in stock silver, but hopefully you'll agree it looks pretty funky.
I opened the headlamps and painted everything that wasn't a reflector satin black to darken them down. Obviously this does not affect beam pattern.
The entire enterior was minging when I bought it, the whole lot was stripped out and steam cleaned, so lovely grey velour throughout. The carpet is missing its heel mat but otherwise is fine, I have a small black mat that I've put in its place.
The exhaust has stainless shotgun extentions fitted. They are only clamped on, and easily removable if you want to replace or shorten them. I've already tripped over them at least 6 times. The actual exhaust is still stock so it's nice and quiet. The centre section appear relatively new so has been replaced recently before my ownership.
Just had a fliud and filter service.
It has a NEW MOT. It passed on 22nd August 2016 with the following advisories.
001. Front Constant Velocity Joint gaiter deteriorated, but preventing ingress of dirt n/s. - It looks fine to me, but inner spider joints popped out whilst fitting the front coilovers, and they are a pain to get back in by feel, so we popped the gaiters off to make seeing what we are doing easier, before repacking with CV grease and re-attaching the boots. Didn't see anything untoward at the time.
002 Both rear lower shock bushes debonding
003 Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement.
Whatever, you have ~12 months to sort those, and they may well still pass the next MOT anyway.
Bad points -
Well, the paint job is exterior only, so the door/boot/bonnet jambs are still silver, and there's a bit of overspray here and there
Temperature gauge doesn't work - probably just the sender, but I can vouch that it sat in standstill traffic in roasting hot weather just gone several times, and the hoses didn't even get hot, so there are no worries with overheating
Aircon doesn't blow cold - big deal, recharge it if you really want to!
Passenger front window is a bit sticky, gets halfway down and then stops. Probably needs 'exercising', or pulling apart and lubing.
No aerial. The core mast is missing. I bought a new one listed for a 91 Accord, and although the mechanism pulls the toothed cable in on retraction, the mounting at the bottom of the mast is different, so you can't attach it!
I'll try to get some more/better pics at some point, just putting the feelers out. I built it purely because I had nothing old enough to display at the Retro Rides Gathering this past weekend, and now I have no need for it.
£695 please.
As per all my previous car listings, if you want to buy this, I will drive this car to you anywhere in the UK, on receipt of a reasonable deposit, so NO "If only you were closer" posts please.
