A little late posting up so big apologies!!!!
Now this is a show I will not miss and have enjoyed every year I've been so far. This year with the car being ready I thought I'd have a crack at the hillclimb
A few of you may have watched a little red ax pedal it's way up the hill twice. Unfortunately as I was accelerating along the finishing straight and going into 4th I lost all gears. I coasted to the car park and it was obvious that the gearbox mount bolt had sheared as the engine was hanging out . So an embarrassing, quiet, run to the 'pits' and this is where it got good
The amount of help and friendly people willing to lend tools was over whelming!!!! I'm truly in debt to everyone that helped!!!
The mad scientist, wacky racers bonkers Bedford van turbo man helped me drilling out the offending sheared bolt, mr intergrale (who finished building it on the field the night before) lent me the tools and finally the young lad who answered the tannoy call for a m10 bolt which ended up being perfect. And lastly my bro in law who passed me the right spanners . THANK YOU.
Can't wait for next meet as it gets better every year!! I'll be bringing an ax with a twist for the hillclimb in 2017 (300bhp) with a bit of luck!!!
So again thanks to all the organisers for a fantastic show and to everyone that helped, we got home just fine, and I'll see you all next year, Lee
