So i thought its time for a new project the 944 gone to a new home in boston,i sold the porsche due to my kids been too big for the 2+2 seats.Had a look around a decided on a w114 merc but cheap projects that didnt need hrs and hrs of welding were thin on the ground then this w123 estate popped up,sat in a garage in newark for 22 yrs previous owner put it away while he went abroad for 5 years but came back and bought a new car and sat there ever since. the 80 year old owner really didnt want to part with it but he knew he would never be able to do it Got the car home put a battery on it and the only thing that didnt work was the electric fuel pump so took it off to check it connected it to a battery and it worked turns out relay died, tank had been drained at some point so put everything back together and cranked it over and she fired but silencer collapsed so sounded shocking. going to go through the car checking and renewing as necessary but not over the top if it servicable i'll reuse it discs and pads were only fitted 500 mile before being parked up so they will be reused but some brake and fuel pipes need renewing, the body is not bad some scabs were touched up with rust preventer 22 yrs ago so it will need some paint work maybe even a colour change to a more modern colour and also bbs rims and when was the last time you saw one of these

What I wouldn't do for an S123! Had a 200TD in the family nearly 25 years ago. That was my first exposure to MB as a child, and I've been addicted to the brand ever since.
I just don't have any space for any more cars, and I don't want to part with anything I have!

its been a while done some work inbetween working away gone through the car now all service stuff done in engine and box, complete exhaust replaced, second hand rear calipers as originals seized just finished removing self leveling suspension as pipes and rams leaked so installed normal saloon shocks but a bit too long so turreted shocks into the boot while i was at it cut a coil off the rear springs removed all the headlights, grille and bumper to clean up,painted inside of lights satin black together with the grille as the grey was all faded while they were removed i sorted the paint work around the front with stonechip and a repaint in beige as everywhere seems to have been touched up with what looks like grass green gloss picked up some rare ats alloys but centers were too small so machine out with a router inside ive replace the 90s cassette player with a mp3 stereo i had lying about together with speaker upgrades as well as a purpose built sub box i came across that fits behind the rear seat with 5 inch speakers mounted in the top clever piece of kit all computer designed at the moment I'm on with chopping the front springs which every body warned me were a nighmare so i bought a coil spring compresor specially ...what a load of curse word i undid shock and top balljoint pushed bottom arm down with a long bar and the spring just dropped out no fuss

unfortunately you directly see the difference between a genuine and a "fake" mercedes fender. They are never a 100% fit But good luck with the car! At leastit's another w123 saved!
