White 3dr Cosworth C232HVW, Bexleyheath 23/09/16 White 3 door Cosworth registration number C232HVW was stolen from the owners driveway in Barneshurst near Bexleyheath between 9pm & midnight on Friday 23rd September 2016. The car is an ex press car & was a project which had been off the road for over 10 years. The Cossie is completely standard & has rust on the driver’s side front wing, A post, tailgate & driver’s door, plus other areas. The car was trailered away using a Ssangyong Rexton reg FJ54BVW which was seen travelling on the M2 motorway at 7:30am near Gravesend heading towards Canterbury with the Cosworth on a trailer with no wheel on the driver’s side front, all the wheels were on it when it was taken. There is a reward for information leading to the safe return of this car. Anyone with info can contact the owner Matt Goodrich on 07961 836286

Well at least they have the reg no , and that checks out as genuine . I wonder if a friendly mot man can run the reg and see where it was mot'd , it might give people a idea what area its in , or they can ring the garage and maybe find out who it is .

Nice area where this cosworth was and can't believe someone's had the Front to take it off the driveway ,,does the ssangyong belong to a registered keeper?? Hope it gets recovered and the scum get some sort of sentence for theft

Could be a cloned plate then, they're easily taken from for sale ads.

I'm guessing that site advertises cars that were possbily on ebay or have been . I'm guessing its been recently bought and a false logbook filled out ?
OR hopefully they are thick as dump and a re actually selling it , not realising they have been caught on camera . Fingers crossed .
Has anyone forwarded this to the police ?

Hi, They have probably stolen the tow car as well, then if it all goes wrong or they get stopped they can abandon it with no come back if they get away. They do the same thing when stealing caravans.

Update from the owner (Matt Goodrich):
Update on the stolen car... Sierra cosworth white 3 door stolen from Bexleyheath on Friday 23rd/Saturday 24th. The vehicle was towed/ transported to Marden close in crayford opposite Hall place. 2 men in a blue mini with a white roof were seen with it at around 4am. At around 7am the car was loaded ( with difficulty) onto a trailer towed by a purple/grey Ssangyong Rexton registration number FJ54BVW driven by a guy in his early 50s with receding hair and accompanied by a black man. The car was then seen as per picture, on the trailer on the A2 passing Shorne Gravesend at around 730am. It was later seen on Staplehurst road in Marden/Staplehurst area at 830am. Both the Cosworth and the Ssangyong are unusual and distinctive. There is a cash reward leading to the recovery of the Cosworth so if anyone has seen anything at all then please get in touch with Matt 07961836286

Can confirm that was in Staplehurst as I went through just before 830, on my way to work. It was stopped at the traffic lights by Homeleigh Timbers. Couldn't see who was in the tow vehicle though.

The rexton will be on cloned plates as it's the wrong shape for a 2004 model

Oh my word that car has been on that drive for so long and is normally blocked in. I can't believe they had the audacity to go to those lengths to get an essentially a hard to shift car that hasn't moved for years. They must have really been watching this and sadly planned this. Such a callous and heartbreaking crime. I will keep my eyes peeled for the SsangYong, Mini and anything else suspicious on my travels around the borough, especially on late night call outs. Hoping it gets too hot to handle and is recovered.

I know exactly where you drove past it at 8:30am, I have dealt with a dealer who I was a scrap yard in Wrotham that has a place by that timber yard. I will have a word about. I know a few people with yards in that area and am often working out that way myself.
I can't quite believe that this thing was towed down the M2 and I can only presume through Maidstone centre at rush hour time in the morning.

Sounds like it was heading straight for the docks If it was heading for Dover then the port & port police were made aware of it & were asked to keep an eye out

If it was going to the docks then it wouldn't have been Dover or Folkestone, more than likely into a container or similar over on Sheppey
