I think fuel quality does make a difference. I know that I get far better mpg if I use decent brand fuel than I do if I use supermarket fuel.

...All I could see on that article was V power nitro +, which has been about for a few years now... No discernible difference between it and Tesco 99 in my old Dolly. The Tesco stuff did make more of a crackle on the overrun mind.

I remember reading that here the high octane / super grades don't yet have ethanol in, can anyone confirm that or educate us with other info.
No ethanol, or something in the fuel blend to prevent the bad effects of it on the rubber and various metal parts of older cars is well worth a few pence extra.
If no super fuel in the UK has ethanol then Tesco is easily the best choice as its the highest octane rating (as far as I know) and sensibly priced.

I put £20 of super in the mgb this weekend and was amazed at how much better and smoother it ran.
