Hi all, after endless umming and arring I'm selling my cavalier.
i built this in september 2015, and everything minus the engine was brand new. Its a 1998 saab b204 engine (highly regarded engine) with 145k miles. I owned the saab from which it came from and only removed engine due to bulkhead and rear arches rotten. i gave the engine an overhaul prior to fitting it and have just this last few weeks given the top end an overhaul due to headgasket failure. New genuine gaskets and also reseated all the valves. Head was skimmed and decoked.
the cavalier itself is around 120k miles but has some gsi (ithink) clocks fitted that read 150k. Previous mots can back this up. The shell is very clean with only one rust bubble on the passenger rear arch about the size of a 10p piece.
Engine
Chinese gt3076 turbo 1 week old! Also have the one i bought in september 15 which i thought was faulty but turned out to be a duff throttle body seal causing a boost leak.
large ebay intercooler 2.25 ports
2.25" intake piping aluminium and silicone
4" stainless and silicone intake for turbo inc 4" cone filter. Again 1 week old!
630 genuine siemens deka injectors from sas auto customs
3 bar map sensor from sas auto customs
genuine walbro 255 from sas auto customs
modifed throttle body and tophat
t7 apc valve
Alloy catchcan
bailey dumpvalve
alloy inline temp sensor
Isuzu td rad (works a treat)
2 slimline 8" fans
3" exhaust (modified turbo outlet flange to give minimal restrictions)
the exhaust is side exit on the drivers front bumper with a big stainless box (well as big as i could fit) and sounds really really well. Though a tad loud outside but no more tham your subarus and what not.
uprated clutch
13 row oil cooler and custom oil lines. Ideally wants a bracket making as just cable tied up for the time being. Just being honest.
New speedo cable
shell
Gsi front seats in very good condition. No wear at all.
Electric sunroof.
308mm front brakes grooved disks green stuff pads
286mm rear brakes
5stud legs with working abs
apex springs 30mm lower
saab aero shockers on the front
16" viking alloys 2x khumo ecsta ku31 2x pirelli p6000 (utter curse word) all plenty tread
5mm wheel spacers all round (front brakes catch alloys otherwise)
The reason why she is cheap............
failed mot last week on back brake imbalance. (Drivers rear insufficient)
sidelight bulb
drivers rear lower sill corrosion. The hole is smaller than my thumb but will no doubt spread a touch more. Funnily enough its where the only welding patch its had before is!
tickover can catch you out as you need to blip the throttle let revs catch up (needs speed sensor signal, i did wire it to the cav clocks but the ecu doesnt recognise the feed)
drivers window is playing up, have checked and regulator is at fault. I have bought another to replace this
front door cards are abit scruffy and the roof lining is starting to sag a little at the back.
The ecu has been mapped by a very well known saab t5 guru on uksaabs, very progressive map and actually surprisingly very nice to drive. It gets full boost just after 4000rpm and pulls to 6800rpm where the limiter is set at. Can be raised with volvo valve springs.
All in all a very good car that needs just a little tlc.
Have bits and bats of service history.
I may be tempted to break for the right amount.
I'm looking to buy an enduro or motocross bike. I do have a soft spot for rx8's but i have too many vehicles!
no test pilots unless money is in my hand and you are insured as this isnt a car to be taken for granted.
Zero 7 nine 5 seven 9 one 3 five 3 five.
can deliver once you have seen it and paid for it.
ill upload some more pics tomorrow
