So, as I've been asked to create a thread for the E28 I've recently bought: here it is! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
I bought this car after I've dailied a 9-5 SAAB for the past year, great car which will no doubt become a classic in a few years time. It had lots of power, was practical, ticked all the right boxes, but had lots of (mostly expensive) stuff breaking and I'd never really liked driving it as I enjoyed driving a classic, so I fixed it, sold it and started looking for a classic that I could use everyday. My colleague suggested an E28 and this forum agreed here.
Then I found this in Holland:

It's a very solid car, no rust at all, not even at the jacking points. Very tidy interior, no cracks in the dash, and overall well kept after.
Then I found out through BMW that this is a matching numbers car, which has originally been delivered in the south of France. And through customs I found out I'm only the 3rd owner!
This aside, The car has some minor issues.
It needed the freeze plugs replacing cause they leaked. This is fixed now.
I replaced the front torsion bars because they made a squeaking noise.
Central locking doesn't work, I need to figure this out, but since i mostly drive it alone I'm not too pressured on that.
I installed a radio which I pulled from a scrap car I bought for less then the radio's value.
Installed these nice retro-looking shelf-speakers plus some better quality speakers in the front.

I didn't really like the standard wheels, so i bought these:

8j in front, 10j in the back, nice setup which fills the arches superb!
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3273.jpg)
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3265.jpg)
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3271.jpg)
This is how far I am with the car at the moment.
Near future plans are the following:
- B6 Bilstein shock setup because the rear wheels hit the arches on speedbumps.
- possibly lower the front a little bit, I think 2-3cm will be enough, the rear is perfect.
- ...?
On the side I also own this:
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3246.jpg)
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3247.jpg)
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3248.jpg)
Plans for this are bigger, but equally slower:
- lowering set
- nice wheels
- front grill spoiler
- possibly make something in the back to take it on holidays
- front folding windows (already purchased as you can see)
- towbar for practical purposes
- ...
![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll134/Milord666/IMG_3252.jpg)
Then i have some other projects on the side, like a Volvo 460 i bought with a broken clutch, and my GF's Opel Astra which tends to break down more then an average Alfa Romeo and has recently developed a problem with overheating.
I'll try (and this could possibly count as a new years resolution) to update this thread on regular basis with all my car -and car related- stuff!
