Gunmetal silver, play it safe. Gold will look terrible. Whilst you are looking at the Williams borrow the engine and gearbox... you know it makes sense.... Gold wheels will look good. P. Why use Clio wheels, when you could use Alpine wheels? I lowered it, removed the rear door handle, smoked the windows and tried to remove some of the car park dents, but got bored. That looks great, might want to check the tracking though I was trying to make it look like the wheel was turning like the original, but admittedly not the best result. Anyway did a bit more. There you go..... This may be the better way to go....... for the wheels. Black or dark anthracite. Like what was on my old MX5 roof or wheels. I also took the van out to fill it up late afternoon........ Service with a smile as standard. Bradfords Garage, they still work the forecourt and frown on self service. Looked at replacing the discs and pads. But decided to see what a bit of road use will do to them first. Bosch brake system, typically the most costly option, thankfully there are 30% and 50% discount vouchers online this weekend. Just before dark I buffed up all the plastics as well as polishing the scuffs from the first owners use. Removed the Italian flag and replaced it with this on the rear.

I like the dark anthracite look. But then I would, wouldn't I? What I do like, and it just demonstrates the overall quality of Rian's threads, is that we're on page 4 already and he's not even washed it yet!

I love little vans like this.....been thinking about one like it myself...Ford Makes the transit line over here and the smaller ones are pretty nice...... JP JP, I think you "Get" this thing. I was cleaning it up a bit last night ( georgeb 😎) just the plastics, and polished some of the paint scuffs where it was probably dragged through or past a hedge or similar. Then ended up cleaning the interior as well, and feeding all the plastics (read smeared all the dull surfaces with some plastic and vinyl feed) And when I was done, I actually stood back, looked at it and spoke to the little van...... " I like you Mr Prozac, funny how a 16 year old can put a smile on my face" seems the van is male as well, which feels a bit weird 😁 I am still not sure if the fact that I have something, anything to play with that is driving, working, functioning and instantly gratifying has anything to do with it, or just having an incredibly useful tool at hand that makes me happy. I really like this, and hope that like all my cars, it does not attach itself to my heart, so when the time does come to move it on, I will just sell it on and smile as someone else takes over the enjoyment it has brought in the first week of ownership. I believe these are/were available in Mexico as the Peugeot Grand Raid so you may have a chance....... take a look here en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Berlingo here is my rendition. Thank you. I like the dark anthracite look. But then I would, wouldn't I? What I do like, and it just demonstrates the overall quality of Rian's threads, is that we're on page 4 already and he's not even washed it yet! You do make me laugh George. Not sure about quality of threads, but I do love to collaborate as I know we all have something to add, so maybe my threads are just a bit more open for people to add their opinions into. If you see quality, then even better. In the case of this car of course there was a 4 page, 3000 view thread pre-purchase research thread, and I had it going on about three forums I frequent, so got a lot of useful info that helped determine the direction my cash was flowing. Recently I had that Mercedes Benz W124 estate thread on here, and 4 other forums, ultimately it became apparent that for me it was not a feasible route to go, so I stepped away. Despite really wanting one to convert to panel van, finding a good, cheap one where all you needed to do was weld up and process the sides, at a silly low price seemed a bit difficult. Thread: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/194883/mercedes-benz-w124-estates-learnedI am looking at 35% or 20% film. Not sure what the collective feels is appropriate. I want to get the illusion of a van, a bit of scrote eye blinding and privacy or "security" to keep eyes out the back. Will probably not do the rear window, just sides. I also need to still see through the sides when reverse parking etc. So if anyone knows tinting, then let me know if the 20% is too dark. EBay ad shows this. 35% tint And the darker 20% Opinions?

My P38 has only factory tint, i.e. hardly any, but Madam's Hateful Toyota Fortuner looks, from your pics, to have either 15 or 20%. This may be okay for rear side windows, but you'll struggle to see out if you need to. She's got the front sides done as well and it's impossible to comfortably look out. Your eyes need to adjust, almost as if you were going from day to dark. Of course, being a Filipina, you are way too busy doing other things rather than driving and actually looking through any glass, so it's not an issue.

20% is fine in bright daylight but there is no way you could park with it at night. My Forester was 35% and do-able using mirrors.

Out shopping today I found this like new chair in the Red Cross Charity Shop skip, I guess it is not right for their inventory. After Katy cooked dinner tonight, which was rather good. It was my turn to make desert. Best part of my weekend is that Katy and I are dog sitting her parents' dog Humphrey. He is a cool 5 year old. Looking forward to the tint getting here next week.

I generally hate darker out side windows as it reduces my visibility sideways. Some are so dark here they need to have little portholes cut in them to enable a view of the door mirrors. Fortunately they neither use these very often nor ever need to look before pulling out of a junction. I saw a wagon a few months ago with a completely tinted windscreen apart from a tank-drivers slit across the middle. I suppose if he did hit anything his defence could, quite reasonably, be "I didn't see it"! P.S. Like the dog too.

Looking forward to the tint getting here next week. I love dachshunds!! I also love this thread! Thank you Dave, Humphrey is an awesome little dog. And for me he is a great fix, as I do not have a dog, but love them, and Harley treats me mean to keep me keen. I generally hate darker out side windows as it reduces my visibility sideways. Some are so dark here they need to have little portholes cut in them to enable a view of the door mirrors. I suppose if he did hit anything his defence could, quite reasonably, be "I didn't see it"! P.S. Like the dog too. I was just telling a friend in Australia that I generally hate blacked out windows as the limit my view sideways at intersections etc. So I have settled for a lesser level of tint. Let's see when it gets here if it's too dark. Because if it is, I am going a lighter tone and there will be free tint about. I was trying to make it look like the wheel was turning like the original, but admittedly not the best result. Anyway did a bit more. ...shouldn't it say Grizz Van in the same script as the Williams Van? Just a thought ... Not sure this is completely the way I will be headed. I am a bit hectic at work the next week or two, so the van will get the back seat. good thought Thanks matey.

Dennis and I have been spending a lot of time on Messenger and FaceTime, busy with some stuff we have planned. This morning at 02.00 USA time, he was painting a wrecker/recovery body. Asked him why, he replied that it took up too much time in the booth, so painting out of hours makes sense. And being the boss, I guess he knows how to keep his customers happy with crazy fast turn around of jobs. Anyway, one of his latest side projects is this table lamp. I like it. Anyway, on the way back from Katy's place tonight I purposefully hit the brakes hard from speed, right down to 30mph. It was a bit like driving a car really hard, just to clear out the system a bit. What I started out with...... So this is what I ended up with. Very much satisfied , at least I am not going to replace the front brakes yet. I also spoke to mate Darren at Unit Engineering earlier and will be subletting his industrial blasting unit for the alloy wheels. Then I will paint of powder coat them.

The Partner or Berlingo never tickled me much... Till Grizz lifted out its Prozakian properties!
In South Africa we have annual Wild Flower Tours in early Spring, private or by touring companies, to the Namaqualand region. The full length sunroof will definitely facilitate photography! Perhaps wildlife too. Though it might instead facilitate an easy breakfast for a lion!
Would the Berlingo accommodate a bigger engine, say from the C4, with which I believe it shares a floor pan? Hopefully without requiring outsourced R&D,or at least without turning into a years long project! A quick Google search did not return anything.
Amazing the variation of simple campers designed for these vehicles.
Interesting that the vehicle is also available as a seven seater.
