The Partner or Berlingo never tickled me much... Till Grizz lifted out its Prozakian properties! In South Africa we have annual Wild Flower Tours in early Spring, private or by touring companies, to the Namaqualand region. The full length sunroof will definitely facilitate photography! Perhaps wildlife too. Though it might instead facilitate an easy breakfast for a lion! Would the Berlingo accommodate a bigger engine, say from the C4, with which I believe it shares a floor pan? Hopefully without requiring outsourced R&D,or at least without turning into a years long project! A quick Google search did not return anything. Amazing the variation of simple campers designed for these vehicles. Interesting that the vehicle is also available as a seven seater. You could do a 1.6 8v petrol on the existing mount work, but the 'chassis' will take stuff like a 1.9 turbo diesel, or even a 2.1 12V turbo diesel, Mi16 16V petrol, and if you are brave even the 3 litre V6...

I like this project a lot, I'm a fan of quirky cars even though my cars are far from it.
You're local to me too so I will look out for it.

why stop a 6 cylinders? Why not get serious and make that real. I really should get my med levels looked at If any sort of conversion was to take place something like. campfiremag.co.uk/mini-campervan/Might be a much more useable modification Ttfn Glenn

As soon as I hit the jackpot! Would like to see how they fitted THAT! I like the insurance of a powerful engine. I like the fun factor of a powerful engine. I like the surprise factor of a powerful engine - when dad's boy cannot believe his GTi is after all not the quickest in town.

Rian, do you plan a classy roof carrier to carry full boards? Maybe something from or similar to a W124 TE's or the Ford Sierra station wagon?

The 1.6 16v out of the 106 gti/ Saxo VTS will drop straight in and 150 bhp can be easily had

Good morning all, Does anyone know how the door rubbing strips are fixed to the doors on these Multispace Berlingos?? I want to remove mine, but if they are clipped through holes etc, it's no good, however automotive double sides tape could work for me to clean the doors up. Thank you.

'Rattle can' them body colour ... Not a bad shout. Degrease, plastic prime and body colour. Slightly less visible that way without costing the earth.

Especially when the rear seats are rolled forward. grizz's shooting brake, youll need a barber jacket and some le chameau wellies Having seen my place and my way of life, you should know that a Primark hoody and flip flops are more my style, with charity shop Bermuda shorts. But your picture makes sense. Or a back seat that rises through the roof on hydraulics for sitting in whilst potting pheasants with a Purdy, like a Maharajah. That is funny, but very doable.... I have always liked function over form, even my current choice of company car vs what I qualify for. Leather and fixed seats just don't carry timber, car parts and boxes as well as a fold down rear seat. I like this project a lot, I'm a fan of quirky cars even though my cars are far from it. No plans for any roof racks, though there was one specific to Berlingo on my Facebook for sale page for £30.00 I rarely would actually use one. Rather need to find a tow bar and fit that. I do own a trailer, that is stashed Ina garage 30 miles from home. Those there discs look much better! Echoing the above comments, this thread is very much a calming one! This van has never been ragged to death, so maybe the discs were just like that from lack of real use. Seems we may have holes. This is a van door, pic stolen off another forum. However, highly likely car would have same or similar fixing methods. So not ideal but hey ho.

I keep adding up the spend and in real terms I already broke the £1k mark. Of course that includes tax, insurance. But more base costs to come like sorting the alloys, painting them and moving tyres over. Got in early today. Well, early to me is 5.15pm and its s nice feeling that one can still see outside even now at 5.45pm Straight to the garage in my work suit and a quick attack on the van. Side strips removed and door panels cleaned up. Cleaned up and cleaned up I think. Liking it so far. Opinions? Also checked and typically the window tint I bought just will not make it for the rear window. A £8.00 incl postagefor 10 foot its not overly expensive though. So may rattle the piggy bank again.
