Few hours earlier got wind of a shell with logbook kicking around, abit later I'm getting it picked up (I'm a terrible impulse purchaser of cars) Pictures mixed on upload so not in the best of orders When i got the supra back to work after losing storage what ive got to work with not much of the interior left but most of whats not there would be coming out anyway I'm a sucker for punishment, due to the tight time frame i had half a day to strip everything out all wiring dash sound proofing off the floor etc out to prep for the cage Pic jumped out of order, this was yesterday (saturday) around midday finally at place to get the cage built, hard points of the car put back in place eg heater unit dash bar column to work around some of the curse word that had to come out more curse word that had to come out, rear diff and shafts off an LS430 for a lower 3.23 ratio diff should be ok ice helped a little bit, wouldn't recommend it too much tho Iwasnt left with much to start with Ash

Bit scabby but no major rust bit of a clean and will be all good back at the other place big tools and lots of steel for a good time bit of drift spec damage on the rear quarter panel, outer has been resin'd and fillered snap of scott, who has as many bad ideas as me exo skeleton ? nah no weight in the car and already a broken spring was like this 11pm last night (saturday) had a few issues broke the former and a few bad bends but main hoop and extra pieces is in il be going back out to it shortly Ash

got rear half of cage fully welded in along with harness bar and rear pieces All pipes hand scollaped and fettled so takes a bloody long time all welded in making up the seat bars for the bucket seats, 3mm steel bend on the press brake then trimmed to fit the floor Ash

Surprised you didn't make them little longer to meet other rails & contribute something structural, but suppose 3mm so thick factory metal might fatigue around it.

Surprised you didn't make them little longer to meet other rails & contribute something structural, but suppose 3mm so thick factory metal might fatigue around it. I'm sure the mounting is more then adequate tbh yes 5.9 6BT cummins diesel engine seats are all in (no pic as of now) only decided to make the rear roll cage due to time constraints and with my bad joints i suspect i wont be able to get in and out easily as it would be very tight front chassis legs ground up for spreader plates for the front engine mounts, previous paint job is very poor quality just flakes off spreader plates welded in place upper and sides fully welded around edges and plug welded to stop the engine ripping itself out of the chassis Ash

That poor front suspension! The 6BT is massive and weights at least 3x more than a JZ! But I like the idea They can make good power. I had 2 6BT's

i kinda see what 79cord is on about, weld 3mm steel to 1.6 (insert correct). could get stress fractures round the welds on the 1.6
p.s i like the idea of this build, even to the point of not minding about roveru taking back stage!

ive got 0 intention of bouncing myself around inside the car when its moving, if it makes you feel better on both outer edges its been really powered into parts of the shell where there are overlapping seams (so extra thickness and strength)
all brake pipes and fuel lines are out of the car now doing basic inspections all pretty clean under arches poly bushes rear which is a bonus

Had 1 day over the weekend due to shows so pretty rushed Before pic of under arhc just for reference and show what i started with one box full of brake parts for the rear, solid +flexi hell lines Mtec discs blacked handbrake shoes and fitting kit Dropped the rear subframe to clean and paint it up (havent got time to get it blasted and coated) upper arms where polybushed which was a bonus Mostly all stripped down 2 arm stuck in place (camber bolt seized to bush and centre turned) will sort out at a later date doing the under side section by section one medium layer all over for a nice finish then doubled up on the seams to give it a really nice finish subframe coated heavily in paint after being de rusted like all the arms etc assembled wet so got covered in the stuff, not the prettiest but will need some touch ups Ls400 rear shafts are too long and jammed up hard into the diff so will have to shorten and sleeve like i did on the fiat Quick test fit of the ST205 2 pot rear calipers to make sure they bolt up (which they do) with stock dics, annoyingly the temp wheels do not fit so taken back off but ive still got to order in handbrake cables (was broken) and fit all the handbrake items when they arrive Ash
