I know theres a lot of love for these on here so before chucking it on ebay I thought I'd give the good people of this parish first chance to buy it.
It is a Mercedes C180 Esprit Estate and it is for spares or repair. Firstly a whole stack of pictures and then I'll give some more details.
Ok, now a bit about the car. I have owned it since June 2008. It was prety much immaculate when I bought it and is still in very good condition inside. It's spares or repairs due to a brake problem. To put it simply, the back brakes don't work. You can open the bleed nipples and nothing comes out. I have replaced the master cylinder but that made no difference.
Now, a little before the problem occured the car suffered a mishap - the handbrake released itsel on a slope and the car rolled backwards down our drive and down several steps stopping just before it went through our front door (which is when the damage occured to the offside rear door). The car stopped with its front wheels about three feet off the ground and the back end about 6 inches from our front door. I had to drag it out with our HiLux. It appeared that other than the rear door no further damage had happened so I carried on using it. It was only when preparing it for its MoT in 2014 I realised the rear brakes didn't work. It may be that the brake pipes have been crushed or the proportioning valve (if there is one fitted) has got damaged. I don't know and don't have the time to check. Either way, the brakes don't work.
So, in April 2014 the car was parked up at my parents house and forgotten about.
Now I am moving into that house and need to thin the herd a bit so it has to go. It has the usual Mercedes feathery arches but none look to have rusted through. There are a few other surface rust spots but the worst bit is probably the lower edge of the tailgate. The pictures show most of the spots.
I have the part for the broken front bumper and it should be repairable. There is also a spare set of Merceds alloys that can go with it.
The battery, not surprisingly, is totally knackerd. However, when I jumped it from another battery it started instantly and settled to a smooth idle. The MAF sensor is currently disconnected as it is faulty (I robbed the original for another C180 I have). Obviously I have not been able to take it out on the road but the clutch and gearbox seem fine, the lights all work and it didn't overheat when left running for over an hour.
It has both keys (the damn expensive electronic ones) and the original owners manual. All MoT's since I have owned it are with it along with a stack of receipts and service documents.
The price is £250. I don't wish to seem harsh but don't come around, look at it and offer me £50. £250, take it or leave it!!
The car is located at ST10 1LY. (Cheadle, Staffordshire)
I should add that the cars colour is aqua green. It's a straight colour so should be fairly easy to blow in any repairs with a rattle can.
