Just been trying to buy a ticket online for the Shelsley event. It seemed to start out by saying I could buy with a credit card or a PayPal a/c but despite asking for my card details twice it still tried to make me set up a PayPal a/c. And I'm sorry but I don't want to do that. Is there anyway I can buy without one? Or do I have to pay on the gate?
I'm new to the Forum as while I am very ancient my car is "only" a 1997 Mk6 Ford Escort Ghia Cabriolet and my daily too; but having found it qualified for Classic Ford this year I'm wondering if she would qualify for your Retro Parking?
Any help with either query would be most grateful received! TIA

Hi pol2y ... that is very strange. Are you using this link? : store.retro-rides.org/collections/frontpage/products/retro-rides-gathering-2017-day-ticketIf so you should be able to click Checkout, then enter your email and shipping details. Click Continue to Shipping Method button. Then click Continue to Payment method where you can enter your card details. No need for Paypal? Mk6 is technically too new, but seeing as they are virtually indistinguishable from a Mk5 which is fine I think you'll get part the gate folk  ... particularly as it is likely to be me and I famously can't tell the difference between a Mk3 and Mk4 Escort... and on video somewhere I get Escort and Golf confused (I was very tired!). |

Thank you for your reply (which for some reason I have only just seen). I was trying from my phone, so I will try again from my laptop using your link and see what happens....
It helps perhaps that I have a private number plate which is POL 2Y!!!
And yes while the Mk5(a) looks quite different, the Mk5b(facelift) doesn't look much different.....
My first cabby (owned 1996-2001) was a Mk3 with Mk4 bodywork, so everyone would have had trouble with that one!!!

Yes it all worked seamlessly from the laptop, so I have managed to purchase one OK.
I've also been invited to join the Gloucestershire Retro Rides Club on their stand, so I really hope you'll let me in now!
