What a fantastic event not been to a retro rides show since Mallory park in 2006-2007 I think it was, we arrived on Saturday got our tent up cooked some burgers signed on walked the hill then got drunk, met some sound Irish guys and had a great night, oh the tat auction was hilarious i reckon some good money was made right there, before the event I had to change the engine on my 610 as I melted a piston at cadwell park in July, we didn't get round to doing this till Friday morning and the engine had been sitting in the shed for around 8 years so fingers crossed it was going to be ok, also I dragged my Datsun laurel c130 coupe out of the garage the previous Saturday, popped it in for mot in the week retested it and decided to drive that up there aswell as a lot of people wanted to see it, well we left christchurch Dorset around 1pm Saturday my mate loz driving the c130 and my 610 on my truck around 1 hour had passed and we had to pull over as the laurel was getting warm/hot water pump failure, so swapped the cars over and now loz was driving my 610 track car instead which made it no problems thankfully,
I hadn't done a hill climb before so was buzzing at the thought of doing it and going up this historic hill, booked in for the morning session and managed to get 5 runs up the hill which was great as was only thinking we had three, got the 610 up the hill not to bad had a blast driving that hill that's for sure, then parked it on the Datsun stand with my laurel watched some racing then bit of a wonder and the day was over, the 610 didn't let me down all day so that was very handy as loz had to drive it back as I wanted the comfy truck haha,
I thought the venue was spot on staff very friendly very well organised not easy shifting that many cars around. Great atmosphere throughout the entire place and would happily do it all again!
If anyone has any videos or pics of my yellow Datsun 610 please let me know would love to see some especially it going up the hill
